Gavin is now my favourite RT employee, not because of this, but because he is the only one of the older crew that still does this hilarious stuff all the time. Most of the new content, aside from RvB voices and achievment hunter, is done by the newer guys who I have never heard of! Gavin reminds me of why I fell in love with rooster teeth, because it was just a handful of guys making funny videos to get a laugh, not to impress people with special effects and become a huge business with none of the original, brilliant things like RT shorts, and the first 5 RvB series.
This post makes me sad. They still have most of the original people, and they're still doing this stuff for the fun of it (as we can see in the RT life videos). They have those new people because we supported them when they were small, that support allowed them to grow, and that growth allowed ...

They have those new people because we supported them when they were small, that support allowed them to grow, and that growth allowed them to do more stuff that they wanted to do but didn't have the funding or manpower for. When did that change you're citing happen? When did the small awesome company you loved become the bloated, anonymous conglomerate whose only goal is to impress and make money? I don't think that change ever happened. I'm happy with their progress, excited to see what will come next and stoked that they can make a comfortable living doing nothing but providing us with this awesome content. And I am really sad you feel that way.

While I still love Rooster Teeth and a great deal of the content they produce, the last couple seasons of RvB don't hold a special place in my heart. They're very well done, but all the production in the world can't overpower the charm of a handful of guys and girls recording VO in Burnie's closet.
Now, that Kung Shu video shows that they haven't lost a bit of their beloved, childish sensibilities, and I cheer when I hear they've gotten more of the mainstream accolades they deserve. But thirty employees in two warehouses doesn't ring as sweetly in the ear as five guys in a basement. There's just as much heart put into the modern seasons, but that heart was more palpable.
It's like South Park. It's huge, it's universally praised, it makes money, it's still great! Season one of SP is still my favorite, because it's rich with that homemade, rough-around-the-edges feel.
I love RT, and I still like RvB, so don't go abusing that "flamebait" mod without understanding what I'm saying.
