Things are ChangingI thought I enjoyed the coffee shop I worked at. The people were okay, some of the customers were pretty cool, and you could get a decent cup of coffee there. The other day was by all means your average work day at a coffee shop, when it happened. All of a sudden it hit me; all the things wrong there (like the rotting tomatos we were still useing to make sandwiches), all the things the people ordering coffee say that somehow make me feel like shit, coming home covered in coffee grounds and stains, The constantly changing schedual and how noone told you youre supposed to come in at 2 instead of 3 and then getting written up for being late, the feeling that my life was being drained away faste...

The other day was by all means your average work day at a coffee shop, when it happened. All of a sudden it hit me; all the things wrong there (like the rotting tomatos we were still useing to make sandwiches), all the things the people ordering coffee say that somehow make me feel like shit, coming home covered in coffee grounds and stains, The constantly changing schedual and how noone told you youre supposed to come in at 2 instead of 3 and then getting written up for being late, the feeling that my life was being drained away faster whenever i stepped into the building, and the fact that 5 of the 8 employees there were managers and only 2 of them actually knew what they were doing.
I looked up from the pastries and sandwiches with what i assume was a horrified look upon my face and I said aloud "This is my life and im working HERE?".
I decided that I have had enough of working in the food industry and enough of serving rich assholes coffee while they belittle me for working there (where do you expect a 19 year old kid to work? Goldman Sachs?). as much as I would of liked to quit on the spot and just walk out of there like the badass I am in a dramatic fashion. I finished my shift and most of the evening cleaning and told the manager "I'm sorry for any inconveinence it might cause but I have to quit immediately, if you put me on the schedual dont expect me to come in."
So today was my first day without a job decided to just take the day off, lay by the pool and read a book. Soon Im starting summer semester classes at the University of Delaware so when the actual school year starts I can focous more on my major.
well thats all that was on my mind
