I have discovered that writing things in the journal is therapeutic so I figure I'll just carry on. This year has been a crazy year so far. its my final year at university so it was always going to be what with deadlines and dissertation/thesis things happening, oh and my parents house catching fire, that was certainly an interesting event.

I have discovered that writing things in the journal is therapeutic so I figure I'll just carry on. In January two American girls moved into the flat I was sharing with a friend. Back when I was back-packing around Europe a couple of years ago I really enjoyed meeting Americans because they were so delighted to be here and the general enthusiasm they had was infectious, I remember one event when this american girl named Sarah squealed really loud when she discovered the stone bench she was using to tie up her shoelace was twice as old as the independence of the United States. I was always amused at their friendly enthusiasm and how it was in stark contrast to my laconic British attitude.

Anyway living with Americans is far harder than hanging out with them, I will spare whoever might be reading this the details but my friend and I have been suffering from culture shock while living in our own country. One thing you can say about Americans is that they certainly dominate wherever they are. The girls are good fun, they are just loud, oh and they are under the drinking age back in America but are over it here so it was like living with people who have just turned 18 and started to drink.

Remind me sometime to tell you about the time drunk nerdy me had to take on a couple of drunk soldiers to get those girls out a stupid situation being Naive and Drunk got them into. That was fun.
