We have been stationed here in Kairo for nearly 7 months and in all that time we have only seen brief resistance from the populace, but the targets they've hit and the way in which these attacks were carried out makes it plain and obvious that there is an informant on us. The contact we were to meet from the local church has been located again, this time among a new cult. Something of a renewal of old ways, calling themselves the "Brotherhood of the Black Pharaoh" and worshiping some ancient ruler of egypts 14th dynasty who we later pinned down as "Nephren-ka" which translates to "drinker of life".
The Contact a Mr. Ini-herit, Akil. has told us that his "Church" - "is not one of war and would not give freely to anyone the information we have recieved from among the people." His phrasing is what worries me, when he mentioned that he would not give freely said Information I saw something new in his figure, his eyes were black. Not like any other person, but entirely black. That paired with his apparently Numidian background and Onyx Skin has him cut as an intimidating individual, but I digress. His mention of pricing for the information worries me, the sites attacked by the resistant populace were few but vital, and none save those officers with clearance on such matters would have known their importance. that and our contact. I know sir that you were the one who found him on your dig years ago and how you praised him saying "There was no way he could have gottten past that many guards and into the tomb, it seemed impossible but he must have found a way. there's no way he could have been inside it." and yes I know he looks young but his voice carries weight among the elders here.
I have sent men to collect him for questioning and if we find any evidence citing him as an informant against us he will be shot on site.

Sir I must apologize for my late response to your letter, it has taken us some days to find him. he somehow got away the few times we did find him. He has refused to answer any questions unless he may do so at night. we of course agreed after a fierce argument between him and 2 of my best men, a Sgt. Waynright and Cpl. Harper. Who at 23:36 screaming and causing such a scene that we had to chase them down. After 4 hours trying to calm them down and stop crying they shared what had happened.
"That "thing" ain't human sir, it just can't be. one second he's sitting there staring at Sgt. Wayneright and the next all I can see of him is his eyes, I swear 1st Sgt. I wasn't drunk, you saw me in there earlier. All I could see was them eyes, cold and determined. he done it sir, I'll be damned if he hadn't!"
Cpl. Harper fell unconcious after he said one last thing "He wants to bring the old gods back, said they had been asleep for too long."
All investigations into the location of Mr. Ini-herit have run into dead ends. The only one who saw him after the incident was one of the staff off base, saying he just walked right through the streets like he owned the place, and no one tried to argue his rule. The Staff said he must have known some sort of short cut cause he disappeared into the shadows in an alley.

Sir, we were getting things back to normal on base when the guards reported a mass of people clad in rags and painted up in some sort of ash, approaching the base in a single file line. we raised alarm and had gunners posted to deter any action the people might take. They walked up to the 1st gate and stopped, then turned and walked back to the city. The guard posted there came to me with something he had claimed to be urgent. That the "Servants" as they had called themselves gave him a note saying that it was for you alone sir.
"Hello there Harold, it has been some time since we last met. I must congratulate you on your quick thought that the sands of Egypt were not meant for your feet, but you had thought it neccasary to leave behind a "Deterent" for my Church. I must say that I am disappointed with their skills of observation, the trail I left for them should have taken nothing more than a second glance, and yet it has taken them months to arrive at a conclusion, and may I be the first to say that they are wrong. Now I know this letter is running a tad bit long and you must have more "Pressing" matters to attend to, but might I suggest something. Next time you want to learn something from me? Ask what price, I'll tell you what you wanted to know, but the full cost will not become clear for a few days yet. You won't be needing your men so I have already had them sent home via a little handiwork through my friends above you, and the Dear Mr. Madison of whom you've been discussing your suspicions with hasn't stopped wailing for hours, if he doesn't stop soon I fear he will die before this reaches you.
Now Dr. Lockhart, to answer your question, yes. Yes I am that old, Yes my my real name is Nephren-Ka and the big one, Yes, We do exist. but you sir will be in no position for anyone to believe you. I have already taken the liberty of withdrawing every penny you had and pumping it into illegal arms production and have also planted evidene tracing back to you of being the one in charge. I have also made a few quick forgeries for the state to take your children from an "Abusive" father and I have convinced your loving wife that you have been in an Affair with a few of the school teachers.
Before I let you ponder on the life you had and the one will now have, let me remind you one last time. If you want an answer, Ask my price.
-Yours with care,
Mr. Ini-her
