I used to play but now nobody at school plays anymore :( I knew someone who had a sliver deck and it was so cheap. hehe. it took two of us teaming up on him to take it out. Even then it was because I used a riptide replicator to make slivers for myself. Personally, I like infinite mana decks, when I fell like being cheap of course. I remember the first time I played a stream of life with that and when I said I play 100 000 mana into x the room went silent and looked at me like I went nuts. Pretty fun game.
I used to have a cane ass black deck. Practially undefeatable - got stolen. Now I make up a new deck every forghtnight or so. Current one is Green but as I say I'm going to make a sliver deck pretty soon.
By the way what sets have slivers in? Most of mine are from the Legions deck and boosters but I have a few from Stronghold (my favourite set). I. Need. Sliver Queen! Only one other player at my school has a sliver deck and they have it.
Oh here's something intresting. Most of the people I play with are annoying. One has a deck with Platinum Angel, Darksteel Forge, Planner Portal, Door to Nothingness, All 5 Bringers (of the [white/blue/black/red/green] Dawn) and all 5 Myogens.
I had a cat deck with insta-death for any creatures that opposed my wrath. Now, however, I use a simple myr deck with an overrun technique (not the actual card.) I use Genesis Chambers and Myr Retreivers with a Blasting Station to set up near-infinite damage combos. Strangely enough, I also have a fungus/druid deck that kills a lot of people. The main reason I suppose is that I use Lure/Regeneration/Venom on a single creature to kill the opposition and let the masses get through unhindered.
Right now, the local MTG tournament place for us is in Lincoln at a Hobbytown. They host a Creature Feature tournament. (tribal style, but with different rules.) What really gets me is that they count Artifact Creatures as a usable creature type, but with the rulings of the cards, we can't target Artifact Creatures for Circle of Solace or Tsabo's Decree. I find that to be very contradictory and it pisses me off. So a friend and I built a Myr and Golem deck to show them how a real artifact creature deck should be in a Creature Feature. Wish me luck. Please. =Mellor
i play magic my favorite deck is probibly my rainbow deck that has the dragons from invasion, captin sisay and dragon arch to get all the dragons out and then kill my oppenents with the dragons or an army of saprolings created by Rith, the Awakener
Best combo I can think of is Hermetic Study/Charisma. Heremtic Study gives Tap: Deal 1 damage to target creature. Charisma is when enchanted creature deals damage to a creature, gain control of that creature. It stays under your control as long as Charisma is in play.
1. a blue/white resource denial deck with hair-strung koto, lantern of insight and masako the humorless 2. a mono-green beat-down/regen deck with mana accelleration and kusuri-gama + plated slagworm (turn 5 @ 13 mana isn't uncommon for me :D) 3. a red/white samurai/burn with master yamobushi.
I play, well I should say used to play. Unfortunately all my gamer friends no longer play so I am selling all my cards. Anybody wanna buy em? My fiance is selling his too. Just a few goodies include 2, count em 2 Mox Diamonds and a Candelabra of Tawnos. Impressive no? Oh and I have a Super Secret Tech from unhinged!
i play magic but havnt played in a looong time i think the game went downhill when mirrodin came out.. but thats me many people will be like wut no way u.. but i think mirrodin killed it. i havnt checked out any of the other sets past darksteel. i think theyre running out of ideas to put in cards so i think they should keep it like it is and bring back some old stuff like shadow , kicker, and stuff like that. when i do play i run a red green beats, reanimator, and a red black creature hatred with nether spirits.
o yea good combo- rotlung reanimator. and nantuko husk out. use artificial evolution on the rotlung change the text so it says whenever a zombie is put into a graveyard from play put a 2/2 zombie into play. sooo u can keep sacrificing it to the husk givin it like +2+2 everytime, and u can use that blue mage. says creature with power 2 or less is unblockable this turn sooo u can have the husk be any power u want i did like 934/934 before. and have it unblockable... soooooooo have fun
Hey... i used to be an avid player... but not recently... can anyone tell me what is new and any new rules... i kinda left off in Mirrodin, and now i am hearing about new decks and stuff... Anyone care to fill me in?
Did you stop after the Mirrodin set or the Mirrodin block? If you stopped after the set, you missed the other two sets in the block: Darksteel (probably the best in the block, as it introduced indestructable artifacts that even Wrath of God couldn't kill) and The Fifth Dawn. If you stopped after the block, then, well, you already knew that stuff and I apologize.
Now's the time to get back in the game. The first of the Kamigawa block (which, like Mirrodin was Antiquities Redux, Kamigawa is Legends Redux), Champions of Kamigawa, was released a few months back, and the second set, Betrayers of Kamigawa, is being released sometime in February. The Legend rule has gotten a major facelift, and there are the cool new abilities of Soulshift and Splice Onto Arcane. All are explained on the inserts in preconstructed decks and tournament packs, and on the Magic website.
Also, the new joke set Unhinged is out, but since the joke sets aren't tournament legal, I don't spend too much of my money on those. Good for a laugh, though, especially "City of Ass" and "Mana Screw."
