I loved the Scrubs series. When i watched it on netflix, i got sad that it ended, so i watched it over a couple times more. What really sucks is that they were introduced a whole set of new characters, but those characters were present for only the final season! Seems to me like they were trying to make a comeback but it failed.
Finished watching the entire Scrubs series a couple of weeks ago. Cried at the end, again. Can't help myself but the ending is so perfect for the series (I'm talking about Season 8's ending, Season 9 doesn't exist for me).
Might watch it again in a couple of months or a year or two from now.
I would consider it a spin off if it wasn't called "Scrubs" or introduce Dr Cox and Turk as med school teachers with pretty much no explanation. Like an above user said, the 9th season doesn't exist to me, and I will continue to love the real 8 seasons forever.
Bill lawrence said that it was to be considered a spinoff, and that it would be totally different to the other seasons. The only reason it was called season 9 is because he was forced by the network.
Its funny, I bet he had to make it season 9 instead of a true spinoff because they thought more people would watch it...... That worked.
Overall i didn't mind season 9. I knew what it was going in so wasnt surprised when it wasnt like scrubs or had all the main characters. Shame it got cancelled but oh well.
If season 9 would have had a completely different cast, then I would've been fine with it. But like I said before, having Dr Cox and Dr Turk quit their positions of Chief of Medicine and Chief of Surgery to be med school teachers really made no sense to me.
They didn't quite their jobs as chiefs, the hospital got tore down and rebuilt on a college campus. They were still chief of medicine/surgery, they just had to teach a few classes aswell seeing as the new hospital also served as a med school.
I really liked season 9, it was one of my favourite seasons.. I think the new cast had great chemistry and worked really well together, it gave the opportunity for new comedy situations that the old cast could never do.
i have to disagree with you, even 6 months after you posted this. season 9 was OKAY. it was faaaar from funny. i can easily say the only funny NEW character was Cole. and the ending to season 9 was GOD AWFUL. ive been watching scrubs since the first episode aired, and i can easily say season 9 was comprised of the worst 6(?) or so episodes in the shows entirety.
Seaosn 9 had great characters, all of the new characters were awesome, Lucy and Cole had a great and hilarious dynamic as dis Facts of life jo an No#1. Yes it changed a lot from Season 8, but something is better than nothing and I thought it was hilarious.
Quite possibly my all time favourite TV show/sitcom/comedy/whatever. Agree that it should have stopped at, at the very latest, season 8... but even season 8 wasn't as good as it should have been.
i did not find Lucy funny at all. she was corny and annoying. Cole was by far the best newbie, but in general (and in my opinion) the show couldnt live up to the Scrubs Standard. Although i did love the old cast. JD shouldve been in more of the show
