I saw them at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin, it's an outdoor ampitheatre and it's very cool. It was during the Amnesiac/Kid A tours and steven malkmus opened. I was blown away by their sound...even live, outdoors, for a huge crowd they were able to recreate a lot of the sounds.
A great show and kinda creepy because seeing thom yorke go crazy on a jumbotron is mildly disturbing.
What a strange coincidence. Just as I logged on to RvB, I was finishing up a little project I started yesterday: digitally acquiring the b-sides from all of Radiohead's singles and EPs, as researched on allmusic.com. Crow all you want about piracy, but I'm not spending $15 a pop on discs with four songs on them, most of which I already legally own.
At any rate, my Radiohead collection grew by about 35 songs. Note that I only searched for the studio mixes, not live tracks that were included with the singles.
Apparently on the new album there's going to be a song called Pigsee and another called Morning M'Lud or something similar. What new stuff do you reckon they'll bring to this one?
I think they'll either return to their guitar/bass/drum/vocals roots but with a new twist, or they'll completely abandon the rock genre and focus on the electronic side. Either way, it should be good.
ok computer > kid a > amnesiac. order the rest as you want. theyll never top 'ok computer'. the entire feel of that cd, from start to finish, is just awesome. especially when you get to 'climbing up the walls' and 'the tourist'.
