So i know this i a little wierd because i guess it just comes down to personal preference but . . . .

i need advice choosing a cpu fan.

i am almost positive i want a "standard" fan not one of the rotary fans because that would fuck up my air currents in the comp.

i guess i just want input on good brands . . .
i just bought a thermal take and it had a bad rpm sensor in it. but imo TT is not a bad brand.
anyway i have to get another . . . just want some input.

Well... First we would need to know your socket type, and I believe that you most likely have either an Athlon XP or a Pentium 4, because they make this in both socket types, http://www.xoxide.com/aerocoolht101.html It's the Aerocool HT 101 if you cant tell from the link and having that would allow you to position 2 fans so that it actaully increses the airflow in your comp, just something to think about..

I've had no problems running my P4 with the stock fan-this won't work if you intend to overclock it however.

In reply to comrade693, #12:

IMO, overclocking really isn't worth it. I've fried a few components attempting to squeeze a little bit more out of them. And for me it's really hard to replace those, and the performance I get.. Isn't worth it.

I don't understand. Why did you think he sounded like a dick?

He posted a link to a decent fan and heatsink, it fits your socket, and directly answered the question you posted. Perhaps I missed something. :-\

In that case, Papst makes good fans, so does Antec and Zalman.

Does that help?

CDex will do it but it's more than you really need.

dbPowerAmp Music Converter is probably closer to what you need.

I need a new monitor and I'm having a hard time deciding wether I should save up for an LCD, or go get a CRT for cheaper.

Any suggestions?
