CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader warned in a new videotape released Thursday that the terrorist group would not stand idly by while Israeli bombardments “burn our brothers†in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

In the message broadcast by Al-Jazeera television, Ayman al-Zawahri, second in command to Osama bin Laden, said that al-Qaida now saw “all the world as a battlefield open in front of us.”

The Egyptian-born physician said the Hezbollah and Palestinian battles against Israel would not be ended with “cease-fires or agreements.❠The fighting began last month following a Palestinian cross-border raid in which an Israeli soldier was captured, then expanded to Lebanon after Hezbollah militants captured two other soldiers in a raid earlier this month.

“The war with Israel does not depend on cease-fires. ... It is a Jihad for God’s sake and will last until (our) religion prevails,” al-Zawahri said. “We will attack everywhere.â

Al-Zawahri wore a gray robe and white turban. A picture of the burning World Trade Center was on the wall behind him along with pictures of two other militants.

The Arab satellite station appeared not to have transmitted the entire tape, using instead selected quotes interspersed with commentary from an anchor.

“The shells and rockets ripping apart Muslim bodies in Gaza and Lebanon are not only Israeli (weapons), but are supplied by all the countries of the crusader coalition. Therefore, every participant in the crime will pay the price,” al-Zawahri said.

:( America might get involved at this rate...

Israel asked for it, and now will pay the price. I knew it was a bad idea bombarding Lebanon. Should've sent some special forces in first. But they decided to do it "Bush's Way" - good luck to them in losing.

Their country is in a war now. And Isreal is not targetting Civilians as you proclaim to believe Isreal is doing on purpose.

That doesnt make the astounding number of civilan casualties acceptable, especially when compared to enemy casualties.

What a great way to dodge the argument. Iraq has nothing to do with my statement.

No it doesnt. It shows how broad based the destruction Isreal is unleashing. No sugrical strikes instead they are using iron bombs, cluster bombs, not as accurate of missles. Reason high presicion missles were developed were to improve effectivness againist the enemy and to keep the infastructure intact. I dont think Isreal cares about either.

and oddly enough i havent watched a single RvB since mid season 3.

Its hard to think of a arguement where you can justify accidental deaths of innocent.

al-Zawahri is kinda right the war will not end until one religion wins and in order to do that it would mean geocide for the islamic nation/terrorist group. Honestly I would go for the geocide just so we have oneless group starting trouble for the rest of the damn world.

If, in an effort to stop someone from killing three people, accidently kill another person while killing him, you're STILL up one life, and two are innocent.

for the love of all things sane I hope you dont try to apply this to Israel's little tea party.

now what if you change one word
Think about this: If, in an effort to stop someone from possibly killing three people, accidently kill another person while killing him . . .
