Or it did go off, just none of the Freelancers present had the equipment to detect it. Or it went off and they all picked it up but... I mean, obviously they weren't able to actually recover the armor any more, so they just ignored it.
Yeah, I think the beacon briefly did go off, but I think the beacon deactivated itself after the Charon Leader put the armor on. Recovery Beacons seem to be mostly silent unless someone has the equipment to track beacons (like Wash... and sometimes Maine for whatever reason... Maine's ability to detect beacons is a weird inconsistency).
Considering that Meta took out those two recovery agents in the Reconstruction trailer he could have acquired that bit of technology when he looted their armor.
Also, I'm wondering if MBG became Recovery 6-he was wearing ODST type armor and had the same build.
And yet, Wash's dialogue in Revelation implied that he was the only one who could track CT's beacon in the desert...
And then, Maine immediately picks up something when Epsilon's Recovery Beacon goes off... I just don't know what to make of two blatant contradictions in within just a few episodes of each other.
Perhaps everyone (or at least those with the equipment, which Maine could have at this point) can pick up the beacons, but it's only Recovery Agents (or whoever) who have the equipment necessary to pinpoint their location or something?
My guess is that there was a jammer on the escape pod that blocked out all PF signals, including the recovery beacon. It was then just a matter of finding and resetting it.
Is the blue guy in ODST armour in episode going to just be a side character? it seems that they put emphasis on him being sort of a bad arse when he shot the storage crate.
This should probably be in a different thread but could they possibly make it one of the Blood Gulch guys? he moved bait like Tucker... and Im sure that would open up a whole world of inconsistencies.
I recently thought of something that might debunk the 'Delta and wash meeting' plot hole. It's possible Wash doesn't remember being friends with York or meeting Delta, due to the epsilon incident. He was rather uncaring about York and Norths death despite being shown to be very close friends with them this season. Delta may have been wondering how badly Wash had been damaged by insanity, asking if he was really Wash and testing how much he remembered. Of course, this is all WMG until we get to the epsilon incident.
Well I think I have an answer to the time travel mystery. I don't think that The Reds,Caboose,Tucker,O'maliey, and Tex went forward in time but were in fact maybe throw into another location far away but were not blow forward in time because if they were blow forward through time the Vic's kid wouldn't be in charge of taking calls for the red and Blue teams because since Vic had a visectemy he couldn't have kids. Now you're probably thinking that well then why did Vic Jr. say that he was Vic's great great great great great great great great great grandson maybe because the present time Vic had a great great- ect ect grandfather named Vic. now if they 'stayed in the future' then nobody from project Freelancer would be alive anymore. Correct me if you see anything wrong with my logic.(?)
It's confirmed there was no travel in time, it was all Gamma messing with Church's mind. Vic's job was basically to lie to the Reds and Blues anyway (hiding that they're all the same, hiding that they're simulation troopers, etc.), so when they showed up claiming to be in the future, he just played along.
I know that a lot of what I'm about to say has already been discussed to death in this thread but, this still bothers me. After watching this latest season I decided to start rewatching some previous episodes where Alpha-Church was just Church up until the moment that he was told he was the Alpha. He and Wash went to get Epsilon in the storage unit, he's told he's the Alpha AI, demands he's a ghost, he jumps in Wash, they go and take out the other AI's with the EMP, that Church is dead.
What bothers me is Epsilon is told stories of the Blood Gulch Chronicles by Caboose (inaccurately). So then Epsilon becomes Epsilon-Church when he merges with the monitor body. Fast forward, he's now Church with every memory the original Church had and somehow has the other AI in him as though he's the new Alpha. Things that Epsilon-Church have said during the series after becoming Epsilon-Church seems as though he has every memory Alpha-Church had while Alpha-Church was in Blood Gulch.
So here's the question, unless off camera Epsilon downloaded Alpha-Church's memories of the events that made the Alpha into Church. How does Epsilon have so detailed memories of Blood Gulch if it was never there and was only told stories that were inaccurate?
Also, how is Epsilon-Tex able to remember events she never experienced? I can't seem to grasp that this current Church has the exact memories of the original (Alpha) Church.
well Epsilon Tex would have the same memories as Epsilon Church because he created her.
As for Epsilon Church, I'm sure someone else can answer better than me but my guess is that he was just told all that stuff off camera. Also, when he recreates everything back in Season 9 in the memory unit, nothing happens as it did in all of BGC, its all inaccurate as if he was told this instead of experiencing it himself. Like Donut being there already and Church not killing Caboose etc.
A popular theory is that when Alpha!Church was getting memory flashes from Epsilon in season 6, it was working the other way too, so Epsilon basically got a copy of all of Alpha's memories. Because Epsilon, well, has issues, it took him a while to remember things, and it wasn't until he was actually around everyone else and after hearing Caboose's stories that he started properly remembering things.
Or at least that's how the theory goes. Alternate explanation is that Tucker explained everything off-camera.
I too thought of that theory a while back, like somehow he downloaded alpha church memories, if they officially said that was the canon explanation, I'd accept it. Just still bugs me.
It would be cool if say back when Epsilon was introduced to Wash that the Director has some sort of connection with Wash. Say that when the Director's AI scan happened the Alpha AI chose a similar sounding voice to Wash from the Director's memory and when a personality started sparking into Church the voice tried to sound similar. I've always thought they sounded almost alike.
I was just reading over some of the past few pages, and I noticed that most people agreed that Carolina wasn't killed by the meta, so he didn't take her AI (now AIs) Because she's alive in the present. But looking at the past series, the Meta has Carolina's cloaking ability which she uses when saving the twins and after they're surrounded on top of the roof. So the Meta definitely has her armor ability atleast. So she'd have to have been killed or badly beaten at some point, right?
Edit: Also, to add on the Tex AI idea, Maine did take that one, but not until the end of 8, when him and Washington teamed up on her. Because the AI he'd already had were wiped in the EMP. So it's unlucky one of the seven he held was her.
