So, playing the game. And it's pretty decent. Oh, don't if you have your Gamecube data of ToS, then you can load it to get these items at the start of the game, just an FYI.
Yeah, I saw it, actually, and I thought it go locked because of my thread, but, clearly, my thread is not specifici enough title-wise to this game. So guys ToS:DotNW. It's only 5 pages huh!? Well, we're gonna need to catch up to speed with my 300. Seriously, guys. Ok, so this is a quest to get Centurian Cores, which are basically the Summon Spirits of this game. Let's start off with:
Was anyone on this thread having trouble getting use to the main character's multi-personality at the beginning of the game? I mean, it didn't bug me extensively, but I was like, "Wow...one's a pussy and one's a baddass." @_@
Well, one was Johnny Yong Bosch, so I kept expecting him to say Getsuga Tenshou, but he said Ein Soph Aur instead, and regular Emil just generally annoyed the flying F out of me. Marta however, I enjoyed, and Tenebrae is freaking hilarious and amazing.
As a summary though:
Needed more Kratos (as in, ANY, some screentime maybe?) Needed original VAs (Colette was the only one returning besides Kratos) Needed less Emil. I'd take Lloyd and his hilarious super-morals over a split personality emo anyday.
Yeah....I got scared when I heard the "New World Tree". But it turns out that the name is secret. If you've been in my thread, then you know what I think the name is. And if you're Kratos1, you probably know the name....or maybe not. I figure it's one of the things they intend on letting us know this much info.
Yeah, but the Ginnungagap(can't remember the spelling for the life of me.) is also in Norse mythology, so, I imagine that the name of the tree is traditionally, Yggdrasil.
Haha, yeah, get rid of the main character. XD Well...actually...I do kinda prefer Rataosk mode Emil as oppose to pussy Emil....maybe cause his personality seems to resemble that of an evil occupation. I don't know how I do it, but I always seem to fall for the evil ones. u_u
Yeah..that Emil is a whiny bitch. There are things in the game that I prefer over the last game..like monsters in the party are pretty cool. I do miss wandering aimlessly on the map to help level up though.
At this point, I don't think leveling up was such a huge factor in this one. For me, I don't think I had much of a problem being on an adequit level with the boss ahead of me. But yeah, running around the map was fun. I mostly got really lost, though in the original ToS.
yeah...i got lost when i had to go to Izoold..because i didn't know how to control my camera at first..and got my butt kicked pretty hard up north where you aren't supposed to go until the end of the game..it was pretty sweet...haha
I never ended up straying too far from the beaten path, but let me tell you, sometimes I had no idea where stuff was because it was so far up or down or east or west that I thought I had passed it. XD
this sucks... my roommate is making me play the original Tales of Symphonia before I play the new Tales of Symphonia (dawn of a new world/ Knight of Ratatosk)... grr
You technically have mystic artes, silly, you just have to...well...look in the guide. It tells you how to activate it. You have to have a full gauge, though.
I finally beat the game (yeah..i was playing other stuff) I did enjoy it. it only took me almost 40 hours..where the first one took me 61. I guess I didn't do all the side quests though..maybe the next play through...
Also I thought the original's story line drew me in more.
The original's story line....was interesting. Haha. I thought I was almost done, but then I found out half way through the game, "Oh fudge, no they didn't! XD" All of a sudden everything that was happening took a turn for the worst for the characters and I was like, "Oh, I feel a plot twist coming on. XD"
Played it, beat it within the first few days. Tenebie is amazing! Hated the Zelos VA with a passion, Emil was laughable, story line plausible, what I actually liked were the little face skits this time around! The ones from the first game weren't as enjoyable. Maybe cause they weren't actually voiced.
I would have to say, "No." mostly because it doesn't have as many of the things that I enjoyed in the first Tales of Symphonia. It kind of works like Pokemon, but it's like playing Pokemon....cept as a side quest. The training of the monsters is pretty cool in the long run, since it seems like you're the spirits of the elements in the original one, who had their animals. But there aren't as many side quests, not as much freedom. There are other things that don't come to mind at this time, but that is just my opinion. But you can count of having a pussy for a main character as oppose to you know...Lloyd.
