I like the show so far, but you have to accept their limitations going in. There's no budget in the TV world big enough to cover that series. For what they have, they do a great job IMO. Plus I'm sure a huge amount of their budget is dedicated to the HUGE CAST and costumes and shooting locations.
I think Coulson being Vision is way too left field. Especially since they're mostly true to the original characters and obviously he had nothing to do with Vision.
That was my thought as well. That character seems way out there. However, I can see them making Coulson an android and calling him Vision or something as a means to keep him in the movies. He wouldn't be the Vision from the comics but more of an updated Shield Agent that happens to be an android/cyborg.
True, the books are vastly superior, but it's no worse than any other series where the books were better than their movies. At least this one is leaving in key details to the plot and is mostly well acted. Except for Jon Snow, that actor pisses me off.
Agree with the budget, though. Pissed me off in the first series where Tyrion got knocked out rather than go into battle.
I actually agree with you about Jon Snow. A lot of my friends are into his actor, and I'm really not that impressed. I love Jon in the books, I'm disappointed in the actor so far. On the other hand I wasn't that into Robb as a character and I really like his actor.
I love Tyrion. In the books, Tyrion, Jon, and Dany were my favorites. And the show isn't making up any Tyrion scenes, all of them were in the book. It was technically the Eddard Stark show for season one, as it should be, because Ned was the main character for that one.
Oh the sets, costumes, film locations are splendidly done. Not to mention the proper use of CGI. Few bits so far that I was sad to not see come to fruition for the series but we'd need 2-3 seasons per book and I am not talking 10-12 episodes either .
I am actually liking the actor who plays Sam . He is holding his own and adds to the story.

Not true, the scene with Tyrion in the whore house isn't in the books and it's the best onscreen introduction to a character ever.
As for, "being known as the guy who kills characters" isn't the same thing as M. Night. Mostly because M. Night doesn't know good story telling. He's decent at characters, and his real strong suit is dialog. But the man ain't a storyteller and consequently not a very good director. Airbender, I think most of the problem with that was, he missed the point of the show entirely and tried to needlessly simplify the plot while trying to cram an entire season of a show into a single film. The man doesn't know how to adapt worth shit.
Back to Joss, are we really coming down on the guy who is the utmost expert on ensemble action stories for making an ensemble action story where someone might possibly die?
He kills off characters... sometimes, which is not the same as ALL of the time. Look at game of thrown, where being the main character means you have a goddamn target painted on your fucking skull.
Know what the good thing about his characters dying? He doesn't try to replace the character with a similar clone character, like a twin, robot or person who has all the same knowledge and fits in the role of the deceased perfectly ( Sorry Jonas ).
What's more, he doesn't resurrect character's he's killed. When they're dead, they're fucking dead. It's hard to be ambiguous about a spike in the chest. He does character death properly. It would be a cliche if he did it the safe way but the man has fucking balls and he's one of the better writers out there.

Please don't kill me, I just walked into the wrong restaurant is all. Leaving now.
So your first couple of posts in a thread are yelling at someone for posting too much, telling them to spend money, and then stating it's your pet peeve as if that fucking means something to me?
