i think avengers had a solid run, i mean it was uncontested for the better part of a month, and the next blockbuster always does it... though i'd personally call MIB3 a weak blockbuster (though i totally want to see it.)
what a pathetic move... come on, i mean if you're gonna go for it, at least go for a superhero people care about. i get the business reasoning, but that's a pansy assed move after so much publicity. Go for aquaman, go for nightwing, robin, a modern GL, green arrow, speedy, cyborg, hawkman, a modern flash
I think they should have made Batman gay. I don't think it would have changed too much about the character. And with the reboot they could have easily done it since he's not known for having long running relationships. And it would have made for interesting story lines. Like imagine a story line where Bruce and Harvey got together how how much that gets complicated when he becomes Two-face. You could have gotten around the child ward awkwardness by making Robin female only from now on... and so on. Could have been interesting.
Still, they made their decision and Ret-homoed a character who isn't even relevant anymore. Nice work DC. As long as everyone knows you're "Ok with that sort of thing" it's good for business.
Constantine was the only character I knew of Bi-sexual. He was also a manipulative bastard so it fit his character. I think that's why they don't do them very often.
After using Blu-ray for a while I was actually very underwhelmed with it and realized how much more versatile and user friendly HD-DVD was. Only thing Blu-ray had over it was more space and the right companies supported it. Which won't matter in the long run. Once companies learn how to stream special features and commentaries it's over for physical media.

I disagree. They did exactly what they said they would do by converting an iconic character. They just didn't specify from which age of comics. Green Lantern (AKA Sentinel) was huge back in the day, and, if you read the JSA title that ran just before the reboot (except where he was on the moon), or if you read anything with his role as White King of Checkmate, they had made GL an awesome and relevant character once again...in fact, all of the JSA had once again become great characters. He has been a major player in almost every DC event from Infinite Crisis to Brightest Day. Also, with the new Earth-2 comic (have you read it yet? it's excellent), they are making the big three from the JSA even more relevant than before.
Now, I agree that this is merely a token gesture, and that they'll never make one of the flagship characters gay, I think that they've still chosen an important character that will mean something to comic readers of pretty much all generations. Just because you don't know much about the character doesn't mean they are not an important part of the DC universe. Try reading a bit before you make unfounded, unintelligent comments. Start here: Alan Scott, Green Lantern.
...though this means we won't have Jade or Obsidian in this universe.
i would agree except, some internet providers are cracking down on data-usage. there is talk out of here of at least one company charging you for how much internet you use, which will kill all of us who stream our entertainment.
Eh. It was all just for show anyway, re: Alan Scott coming out. Listen, I'm psyched they want to introduce gay characters into the universe, but when it's for a publicity stunt it annoys me. For instance I think Marvel did a great job with characters like Teddy and Billy from the Young Avengers, Northstar, and now Shatterstar and Rictor. BTW Rictor is bisexual, and Shatterstar has more or less claimed himself to be asexual/now bisexual anyway. Those all had plenty of build up and it seemed like in a lot of ways there were character decisions PLUS publicity, instead of just flat out publicity stunt to keep up with the other people.
i wouldn't like to see batman be gay simply because of all the jokes about him having a young ward and the nature of the batman / robin relationship (cuz we haven't heard any of that before)... its to easily set up for parody.
I'd add Aquaman to the list of bad choices to be gay as well. Simply because in parody, he's usually portrayed that way, and makes the jokes too easy.
Nightwing is an interesting choice, but I think I'd say to avoid any of the mainstream debate that would come from it, you need a superhero who has/had a more or less stable upbringing. I say they just chose the wrong Green Lantern to out.
Controversy wise, I think the best choice would be Booster Gold. Being from the future, he could have conflictions with sexual bias in our time, like its not even an issue in his.
