Again I wonder If They'll make this an entirely new system from the DS Because it sounds like there are going to be games that are exclusive to the new system.Such as the in game camera functionality. Another thing is What games do we have now that require data shifting from the Wii to DS and Vice Versa. So theres some more This system only
Thats awesome that you have the Zelda edition. Id buy it if I knew where to find it.
- Camera on the Top Screen Facing away from player with Resolution 640x480 - AAC audio Playback with Pitch and Speed adjustments at will. - Increased Screen sizes to 3.25 inches, Both being Touch compatible. - DSi is compatible with SD cards. - Downloading software from the Internet with a new service called DS ware. (Wii Points will now be known as Nintendo Points and both systems will use them.) *If purchased before March 2010 Owners will get 1000 free Points.* - Will come with a Built in Web Browser.
The DSi will also be 12% smaller than the DS Lite, trimming off 2.6 millimeters in width thanks to the removal of the GBA slot.
They removed the GBA slot to make the device stronger and to make it thinner.
More News from the Conference in San Francisco
Reggie Fils-Aime took the stage and talked more about the Nintendo DSi. It will have 2 Cameras. One facing away from you, one where they placed the Microphone in the last DS.
But about the storage solution
As for the Wii, Reggie confirmed that Nintendo had settled on a storage solution for their system that involved using the SD card. Wii Shop Channel downloads would be eligible for download directly to the SD card inserted in a Wii system, and this data could be transferred to the Wii in what was said to be an improved process.
Looks like they are still wanting to beat around the bush about it.
It also stats that we will see the device "well in" 2009. Which is just plain sad. You dont just make a huge announcement, get me giddy, and make me wait.
Is this going on right now? I just realized its Thursday.
So is the DSi getting its own shop channel.
You guys will have to forgive me if make stupid statements or ask dumb questions I just got all of my wisdom teeth removed and I'm still a little groggy from the stuff they gave me

At least it gives you some time to save up some money
I'd hardly call two larger touch screens, two cameras and completely new menu interface "a new hat". Plus, Nintendo has announced that the DSi is being released "well into 2009," so it's not like it's coming straight outta the blue...
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime told G4techTV on Oct 2, 2008 that the DSi will not be available in North America until after April 2009.
Also, IGN stated very oddly that the DSi having 2 touch screens was a mis-translation on there part. But right after stating that, it continues to say that it does have 2 touch screens.
Im really hoping that by focusing more on peoples everyday lives that Nintendo doesnt put less focus into Gamers everyday lives. I kinda doubt that'll happen because of having different departments and such but the more I think about it the more it seems like They're trying to reach more customers instead of reaching video games to more people. Being a person who hopes to work there some day I just dont want to end up working for a place that makes PDA's more than videogames
And Reggie is President of Nintendo of America. Reggie hasn't said anything in the past that would make me doubt his word. He is Kicking ass and taking names.
Reggie has also stated that the DSi, is not going to have exclusive games. So, its not a requirement. But, I'm getting it. No matter what.
