So anyway, the L.E.D. control on my HDD goes out, and the light stays on constantly irregardless of my attempts to turn it off with the software. Contacted tech support who said it sounded like corrupt EX-HDD software which I was beginning to suspect anyway...
After requesting new software via E-mail download, here I am watching my inbox like a hawk, or so I thought, and the next thing I know, it's almost two weeks later. Ran a search of the inbox, and sure enough, there it was a day later, and somehow I missed it. Re-requested new software, installed Seagate Manager, and immeadiately tested the drive.
Oh, JOY!!! So, after residing myself to acquiring a RMA so I can backup and offload my data and send it back, I go to the site, and it needs to run it's OWN diagnostics with Seatools for Winblows in order to find the trouble code needed by tech support to diagnose the specific drive failure. Come to find out, Seatools won't install because of this:
