anybody heard of the Xbox 360 Slim rumors, i thought it was interesting, i saw pretty much two design one that i don't believe And one that is a little more believable And another thought is that maybe project natal was really the new version of the xbox360 slim, which is also an interesting thought but from the video on the xbox page i dont think so. post your thought about the slim and would you buy one when and if it comes out!
i don't think there will be an 'xbox 360 slim' thats a playstation thing. i think they might make it slimmer, but not make a huge deal out of it like sony does.
When I first heard of this I didn't think it was real. Then I heard about this on The Electric Playground which peaked my curiosity to possibly true. If they do make an xbox 360 slim then I don't think there will be a Blu-Ray drive. They will be saving that for the next console.
I'm just gonna state the obvious reasons behind this. If they are going to put Blu-Ray on the slim then the games for the 360 will have to print out Blu-Ray disks. Which will then lead to printing out two different types of disks, DVD and Blu-Ray which will cost a LOT of money to do this. And if they want to cut down on costs then they have to cut out either the DVD or Blu-Ray. Since Blu-Ray is new and should be the next format of disk then they would cut out DVD. For everyone who doesn't own a 360 slim (Millions of people) then Microsoft would only be hurting themselves. If they decided to cut out Blu-Ray since they don't want to alienate owners of a non-blu-ray machine then we are back to step 1.

To elaborate on this I think this is the only good thing I can think of to come out of this. A lot of people complain about the noise the machine makes but I do not notice it because of the loud surround sound but I can see people's points on this.
If anything it will be Xbox 360 Jumbo that comes with a huge fan that stops the RROD, a slim version just isn't smart, think of it from a marketing view, what would be the point? Sony makes slim for some more cash but Microsoft releases bigger HDD space, and the wii err...IT COMES IN BLACK NOW! Just like the 360 does, and the PS3 already did, BUT IT'S BLACK!
Hmm photoshop is the biggest cause I don't think microsoft will go to "slimed" game systems probably trimmed or reduced size stickers but probably not making a big deal....
I traded in my elite for the new slim. It is seductive. Every time i see it it beckons me to play on it. What ever you do not get the 4Gb version with the matt finish unless you store all your games on a portable hard drive and like thinking "i should have got the other one"
