A graphic novel to be precise. However, recently I have been too lazy to type out my actual thoughts.
I'm an actively practicing member of the Roman Catholic church, but I do also believe in science. I like to believe in the the "Divine Spark" theory. It basically says that God created the universe. But he didn't do it step-by-step, nor did he do it in 144 hours. I like to think that He planned to let evolution happen on it's own. But He was the impetus. He was the spark. If you absolutely need evidence, I shall quote Genesis. It says he made the world in 6 days. However, the word "day" was developed by humans to represent the 24 hour period in which the Earth rotates. We had the choice to call it anything, but we called it a day. Now a day may not mean the same thing to us as it does to God. Maybe 1 God day = 1 trillion human years.
Now before any atheists start jumping down my throat, I say this: Whether or not there is a God, religion offers comfort. If a loved one close to you dies, one often feels better thinking that they exist, but at a form beyond our comprehension. Or if you're struggling with anything, praying to one's respective deity offers comfort, and calms one down. Even when you are at the hour of your own death, does it comfort you to think that you will lie in a box and rot? Of course not, as opposed to eternal life in paradise.
Have a good day.
P.S. From a scientific standpoint, aspects of reincarnation exist. When you die, decomposers break your body's organic compounds down and convert them to inorganic compounds. Those inorganic compounds are used by autotrophs, repeating the cycle. So technically, yes, when you die, part of you may become a tree.
I was literally playing pog when this kid was born. We need better, more mature trolls in this forum. I'm on strike until we get the trolls we deserve!
And dude, that's not quoting. That's paraphrasing at best, bastardizing at worse.
Oh. That's what you meant. Oh yeah. I was paraphrasing Genesis, because practically everyone knows it. But last time I checked, this is a forum to post one's theories about the existence of God, not for atheists to yell and laugh at those who believe in God.
I'm just saying that nearly everything I've typed has either started an argument, called gay, or been replied to with a sarcastic comment.
And from now on, I'm not going to reply to anything in this feed anymore. Honestly, it's kind of useless. You probably won't believe in God anytime soon.
And I won't stop believing in God. So we either go our separate ways, or discuss this until we die.
1. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber still live. 2. The Holocaust (one would think he would care that 6 million of his chosen people died) 3. The Spanish Inquisition
These examples at the very least prove God's apathy for humanity, so even then he's not worth praising. Also, if the laws of the universe such as with physics govern the universe and explain how it works, what purpose does a God really serve?

Actually those do not preclude the existence of one or more gods, they do preclude the existence of one who is both omniscient and omnibelevolent though.
Only if you assume omnibenevlolence = "giving the human race what they want all the time." I mean, if humans want a chicken in every pot, how is that benevolent towards chickens?
the way that i see it is that what we call god is actually more of the force that drives all events and actions that happen to occur. It (god) is simply the force that brings the choices that we take to us. some would call this force luck, nature, random happenings, etc. What we imply as god is simply that force that is beyond our ability even collectively understand.
People who say that there isn't a God are one-sided fools. Religious people can argue: "Oh how do you explain this?" or "How do you explain that?" Then atheists step up to the plate and try to solve how it actually happens. They usually cannot. I am a Christian because I believe there are true miracles in this world. You can't explain how they happen using mathematical equations because that's not how they work. If you want to tell me there isn't a God, explain to me this: How is the Big Bang Theory described? Well, there was one tiny atom that exploded and expanded. Then how did it explode? Because a object has to react with another object to create a reaction, in this case an explosion. Either some other particle or energy must have done it. That is apart of Newton's laws of physics.
So based on what I have said above, please enlighten me upon how this actually happened.
Every atom, everything that exists now, all of it existed in the same point at the same time. It was not one atom, it was every atom.
And there was no explosion, there was expansion, not the same thing.
Religious people can argue: "Oh how do you explain this?" or "How do you explain that?"
Yes, they do. They tend to ask really obvious questions, the answers to which are common knowledge, or they ask really stupid questions, that make absolutely no sense.
Bill O'Reilly talking about the tides is an obvious question. What causes the tides? The moon, we all know that.
Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron going on about crocoducks. Why have we never seen a crocoduck? Because that is not how evolution works.
A little bit of education would stop people who ask these types of question from looking like such massive imbeciles.
Then atheists step up to the plate and try to solve how it actually happens. They usually cannot.
At least we try, which is way more than can be said for religious apologists who just shrug their shoulders and mumble "God did it". That is not an answer, that is the shit you come up with when you don't know, or don't want to know, the real answer.
