Homestuck is a very unique webcomic, not only because it is influenced heavily by reader input, but also because of the very well made Flash segments. It might just be the only webcomic with music and its own original soundtrack.
The name of the protagonist is Zoosmell Pooplord John Egbert. He is one of four thirteen-year-old friends— the other three being Flighty Broad Rose Lalonde, Insufferable Pri Dave Strider, and Farmstink Buttlass Jade Harley— who are fated to play Sburb, a widely-hyped multiplayer video game with real-life effects: Sburb allows players to manipulate and modify each other's environments in real time (think The Sims). But as it turns out, the consequences of playing Sburb are more far-reaching than they initially appear, and what begins as a series of amusing domestic struggles and game-related pratfalls spirals into a succession of events the likes of which need to be seen to be believed.
Homestuck began on April 13th, 2009, only one month after the end of the highly successful Problem Sleuth. Rapidly rose in popularity for, among other things, merging an intricate multi-timeline apocalyptic-centric plot with absurd humor and strong characterization.
It is written, drawn and damn near everything else'd by Andrew Hussie, who updates 5.5 times per day on average (although this number seems to be increasing lately), unless he's working on an animation.
It can be found here and it is, at the time of posting, 4943 pages long.
This thread can be used to discuss recent events, past events, future events, alternate future events and anything in between.
D ---> Homestuck is an epic comic one of the best I've read Dave is awesome actually all the characters are awesome I can't even hate Vriska but Equius is the exception that confirms the rule
Who is Jade's penpal? Who is Lord English? What the fuck does Grandpa have to do with SBURB? How in the seven levels of hell is Rose talking to Doc Scratch?
None of the trolls, that's for sure. She hated them. Could it be Doc Scratch? He had fair involvement in the trolls session too. And Rose talking to him is definately a bad thing as well. Now we found out Bec is Jade's guardian , I'm not sure about grandpa's role is in all this. As far as I know the trolls didn't have an equivalent of him. And he was used as the kids paradox father. But then again, Jade is kinda breaking the game on many aspects.
The manner of speech in the letter to John did not at all look like Doc Scratch to me though.
The thing that bothers me about Grandpa is that he, apparently, managed to find a way back out of the game, into the real world, before the game was played.
Grandpa is a paradox clone of the kids' session, so you'd expect him to be involved there. If he had his own session, he would be a paradox clone of that session. Besides, if he was in a game earlier, Earth would already be destroyed by the Reckoning.
Oh, you mean that. That is very odd. But since the entire building is now back in Skaia, dream Jade's body should be too. That is quite weird. I'm blank on this grandpa business. Maybe the game just anticipated Bec's prototyping and made a back-up guarding or something.
Although the most obvious solution as to how he got out of the game would be through one of Skaia's portals, at some point, that still leaves the question as to how he got in in the first place.
Since not even his stuffed body travelled along with Jade when she entered.
As to how he got in... he was seen on John's world, so I assume.. he might have visited his son (aka Dad) at John's place at the coincidental moment john activated the game?
I was actually about to make one when I saw this thread, so welp.
anyway re: the latest update i don't think rose is going to be permadead after this. either her reilself will die and be replaced by her dreamself or her dreamself will die.
A webcomic thread (that isn't Ctr+Alt+Drama or Twokinds) that might remain active? A quest of futility then. Cool.
I started reading MSPA recently. Still on Act 5 (Act 1) of Homestuck, so I kind of skimmed through the posts to avoid spoilers. So far I'm loving it, I didn't think it could match Problem Sleuth in scope, complexity and awesome, but I was proven wrong pretty early on.
Okay reading the newest update I can just imagine Eridan being completely insufferable going all "MAGIC IS REAL MAGIC IS REAL MAKE ME A WAND MAGIC IS REAL*"
