if they were to make some new immersion what would you want them to tast out?

my ideas would be

Metal gear Solid - hideing in a box and moving around the RT office takeing things on peoples desk.

How much damage a controler can take before it breaks, and witch controler in gameing history is the strongest.

Side scroller shooting (like the mario one), by useing paint ball guns

maybe if we help come up with ideas they will make more of them

Well, Burnie stated that they wouldn't make more, unless they felt they had an idea that fit Immersion.
But as far as I'm concerned, it's over at the moment.

The magic behind Immersion was that it was a quick but entertaining Mini-Series. It was a way to draw that line between Video Games and reality, to cover all those "What Ifs?" in gaming culture.

...and a thread like this could bring about such ideas.

I was thinking on doing one on jumping in games. Especially double jumping, just to see if that can physically be done.

I'm pretty sure basic physics says double jumping can't be done.

there is an idea, have griffen and burnie standing in the lab, and talk about what moves cant be done because of modern day physics, and after each idem on the list is mentioned a quick cut to a person failing on doing it, like how they did the bloopers, so for example the double jump, quick cut to cus running and jumping in the air and trying to jump again, but falls on his face, the quick cut back to griffen and burnie for the next idea.

i miss imersion, i feel that there is potential just need some ideas, thats why i started this thread, just like in mythbusters how they ask for ideas to be tested why not the community ask, hopefuly the RT staff reads these

Well you also have to realize that the RT guys work on a lot of stuff, I don't know for sure but I'm fairly certain that they are busy working ALL day and don't have very much downtime at all. They do more than the stuff you see here on the site. So it may not be an issue of them not having any ideas, it may be that they just don't have the time to do more Immersion episodes right now. They have a lot of creative minds that play lots of video games, I doubt the reason for no new Immersion episodes is because lack of ideas. But I do think if enough members of the community show interest they may make another episode once they get the time.

true they are busy working on stuff, like RvB 9 + 10 (hopefuly 10, and 11 like they did for the Re- series) i agree that if enugh people get behind it maybe they will schedule to make more in the future,

i am speculating that for the RTX they said that eveyone will be in a short or video, i am thinking they are going to be makeing the Angry Birds movie, with a crowd fo 200 + people the can make crowd shots of people running and screaming and stuff.

They are definitely making a full length movie of some sort.
I saw a video on youtube someone took at PAX or Comicon of them asking Geoff questions about what they are working on and he said they plan on releasing a full length movie soon. I hope it is good. In a podcast I listened to recently I heard them talking about how the Futurama movies weren't the greatest because its better suited for smaller segments. I hope that isn't the case with RT stuff.

Well, a physically possible one would be testing parkour moves from Mirror's Edge. I just wouldn't have them jump on building tops. Maybe find something a little lower.

Geoff or Gus doing parkour would be hilarious, but highly dangerous from any level I think. They don't strike me as the most athletic or agile fellows in the world.

What about Air Vent Crawling, to see if it's as easy as it is in games?

I think they wouldn't test that because the Mythbusters tested something similar in a secret agent movie myth special if I remember correctly.

The air vent idea seems pretty good, I did that with Sly Cooper and it didn't look easy :P.

i know this idea is i bit hard to do but they should do a fifa one they wear the video glasses like on the side scroller one but the camera angle is like what you see on football matches because its easy to play easier than first person view

The RTS genre, can you command an army to victory by just looking above the battlefield?

My guess is, no. But I think this could be a good one to do that's physically possible. Burnie and Griffon take their places on the top of chery pickers or scissor lifts at either side of a large room or field, pitted with various obstacles and structures. They each have the same number of "units" which will be represented by a member of RT staff, and each member will be assigned a role, like soldier, grenadier, tank etc. Griffon and Burnie then command their "armies" either by shouting orders at them or using some PR system.

Might need simplifying to make the end video more entertaining, but it's definitely doable and could suit the Immersion style.

I'm just putting this out there might be an easy/hard one but something to do with racing from Mario Kart to Need for Speed like for example is it possible for a go-kart to lose control after throwing a banana peel in front or back of it...

I'd personally love them to attempt a stealth Immersion. Have Geoff and Gus sneak around the office and/or Austin using various video game stealth techniques. E.g. Solid Snake in a box, Riddick in the shadows, Assassins Creed monks outfit. Or maybe a modern equivalent to a monks habit, as I'm sure you don't see many monks in Austin. Especially not when SXSW is on.

Me and my friends were drinking the other day and we started talking about how In Call Of Duty when you knife, you magically put ur gun to the side and knife who ever is in front of you, EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE A HUGE LMG or ROCKET LAUNCHER. I know games arent meant to be realistic, but we had a good laugh about it. I would love to see that in an Imersion! Give Geoff a Heavy ass weapon and a knife and see how fast he can put the gun back, knife a dummy or something, and pull his weapon back into the ready position.
