Played it a whole lot with my cousin when we were kids. Fantastic strategy game, moving those little soldiers from country to country.

I really want to try with about 8 people where we all have about 3 territories each with all the secret missons and the like.

My copy of Risk is about 25 years old and has traveled with me from sea to shining sea. Sadly, about the only two gamers I know of in a 50 mile radius are my wife and I.

Still sounds like a good one for my next pick on game night.

I love Risk. I would love to play more offten, but no one wants to play :( Funny story. When I was younger I took Risk to a family function so a group of us could play and stay out of the way. That's how we got to help at Thanksgiving, by staying out of the way.

Anyways, my cousins read the rules and I just played as my friends and I had been playing for many a years. Turned out, that over the years of playing we had adjusted or house rulled so many rules, that we where playing almost an entirely diffrent game.

I think there might be an play by play online risk game. We should find it and start a game over the net!!

If you find such a thing I'm there.
:D
I have a small PC game of Risk as well, but its nothing compared to the boardgame as the dice rolls on the Pc game are heavily in favour of the AI players.

I love playing Risk. About every three months my father, three brothers and I all decide to play. Usually two of us will quit so the others can use our pieces. There is so much strategy involved in it.

I love this game. I like the nostalgia of moving the cavalry to crush Scandinavia's poorly garrison.
I also like to pretend that the gold marker is Napoleon Bonaparte.

I always like having South america, as long as you had a lot of troops on the Brazil and Venezuela territories, you got more mens at the start of a turn than the Australasia section....

Used to love it, still love it and will allways love it. Need a strategy? While all the enemies fight between eachother, make your own bulk of an army in 1 or two full continents and once they are all diminished and spread out, strike into the heart of their empires and take them down one by one. Its awesome.

Risk is one of my all-time favorites. I was digging under my bed yesterday and found an OLD OLD copy. Still had the Soviet Union mapped. But nobody seems to play it anymore :/

Risk is definitely my favorite board game, though I don't believe I've ever won, I guess I'm no master strategist. But it speaks volumes about how awesome the game is that I still consider to be my favorite even though I suck at it.

If you aren't good at making strategic decisions just take Australia and Southern China. Put all of your forces into the choke point and camp until other people get bored. Its a tedious strategy but hey you should win a game of risk once in your life!
