Welcome to Sigma Outpost 113532, the new home of the Blue Army 12th Armored Calvary regiment. It is a communications outpost on the planet Freyja, in the Udanos system on the borders of UNSC space in the outer colony systems. The year is 2584, and humanity is still plagued by war from a second insurrection that occurred twenty years after the end of the Human-Covenant war. The war has spread to the farthest reaches of UNSC terroritory, including planets within Udanos.
The 12th Armored Calvary, shortly left their previous home of West Mountain Outpost, due to being targeted by ONI as a threat to UNSC operations and ONI operations. Under the supervision of Colonel James E. Adams, senior commander of the Blackmarsh sector of the Special Tasks Group (STG), they have been transferred to Sigma Outpost to assist the STG and to stay away from ONI's watchful eyes. So now, under the directorate of the STG the 12th Armored Calvary are on Freyja to suppress the Insurrection movement in the area and to help maintain order as things begin to dissolve in the military and government.
The base location is on grid 23087 by 09834, on the outskirts of the city of New Domino, 50 miles from the system's capital of Asgard. The base is equipped with an armory, private quarters, mess hall, observation tower, medbay, a motor pool, an outside set of landing pads for supplies and aircraft, a courtyard, and enough defenses to stop a small privatized army. The vehicles the base currently stores were transferred from West Mountain Outpost with it's inhabitants.
FOR NEW CHARACTERS: Please read the post above this one to get an idea of the backstory and main underlying plot to this RP. You are a member of the 12th Armored Calvary sent to help control the Udanos system. If you don't want your character to work for the UNSC (UNSC-friendly Covenant are also accepted), then please PM Megafire, Afterchurch, LHSBAND, Cabose1995 or myself for special permission to start as some other character. If you don't need special permission, write up a simple character backstory (appearance, personality, simple history and inventory) and PM it to those listed above for approval. Once we give it the go-ahead, feel free to post your landing at Sigma Outpost in a shuttle or pelican from orbit. Someone on the ground will soon get you settled in.
TEXT FORMATTING INDEX: Spoken text goes like this. "Quotation marks are optional." Thoughts go like this, and are unknown to your character. (Be warned, we have one or two mind-readers) <This is radio chatter.> Written text goes like this. (OOC text goes in brackets. Try to keep this to a minimum if possible) *Actions go inside a single asterix* **Your pet's actions go inside double asterixes**
Same as any other RP guys, just use your common sense. We're fairly fucking liberal with swear words, but don't make every second word a cuss or it'll get annoying after a while for all of us. Similarly, if someone of higher IC rank orders your character to do something, follow that order or don't bother complaining when they throw your characters ass in the Brig. You have a problem with someone higher up than you, make a complain to Megafire, Afterchurch, LHSBAND or myself (in character, of course) and we'll be fair judges. Trust us, we dislike stuck-up officers as much as you guys do . If you want a pet, read the relevant thread in our Group's forum.
"Society reflects tonight An ugly mirror showing an animal instinct A twisted way to wrong a right How many dead before the sun comes arising Lock your doors And close your eyes Sit back and watch tv While the problem grows outside Lock your doors And shut off your mind While you are safe inside The city is burning tonight Blinding lights burn in the sky A mass of shadows Darkness usually hides Animals out of there cage (who will) Burn their own environment Without any shame So your guest is as good as mine Will any good come out of this We’ll know in time Until that time let’s not regress (let’s learn) Our lessons before there’s another uprising."
Atalanta *Exits slipspace and quickly approaches the planet Freyja, in the Udanos system. Two pods are ejected and the ship departs the system and returns to slipspace.*
*In the vicinity of the coordinates 23087 by 09834, both pods impact.*
*Exit the pod and observe my new home in the far distance.*
“Fuck!”
*Open the second pod and take out my back pack, weapons and carry sac. Start walking to the base.*
John Banderas was born in, what used to be New York State in the United States of America, in 2527. When he was young he was incredibly successful at picking up new things in a fraction of the time of an average person would take to learn. He loved to learn when he was a child, asking question of how things worked and why they worked. When he entered elementary school he soared above the highest academicals students in the whole district. He impressed his teachers as he learned quickly, aced tests, and completing his work in a fraction of the time of his rest of his class; the school had to hire a separate teacher just to teach him, and him alone. The school staff was also impressed on how sociable he was with other children, some were skeptical of John—since, they thought, people who have that sort of intelligence would have some sort of social disability—but they soon grew to love him.
When he entered high school at the age of fourteen, John went from being in-rolled as a freshman to a junior in less than a week. By the time he was sixteen he applied to study as a doctor at one of the top school of medicine in Sydney, Australia; a few months before he graduated he was accept to a free education scholarship; he was to be the first seven teen year old to be accepted into a school for free.
Four years later, John graduated from his college and was now a certified doctor, but something didn’t sit right with him. He needed to do more, “saving lives isn’t going to cut it” he thought. He thought about joining the UNSC, seeing the covenant glassing planets really sparked something in him; before he could do that he would wait just a couple of more years before joining.
At the age of twenty-three John joined the UNSC, there he went through boot camp and successfully graduated, but being a grunt wasn’t what he wanted. He then decided to become a sniper and there he joined the 121st Sniper Squad, class 009024. He became one of the sixteen people to graduate from the 121st Sniper Squad of class 009024.
Today he is now thirty-two and Captain of, what used to be Alpha Outpost Blues, West Mountain Blues. Years of being in the military has greatly diminished his intelligence, but not by much. As a captain, pilot, and doctor he still wonders if he made the right choice—the right choice of joining the UNSC. He still has awhile to go though.
WHO THE FUCK?! 32? You must be out of your damn mind? All of this is a lie. ONI fucking backstabbed me and now I must get even with them…. I am 45 god fucking years old, my parents died because there were ONI agents and ONI had PLANS for them…. Not only am I so deeply in love with ONI…. We’ll just leave it at that. ONI and I have a date later… we’ll see if I’ll call ‘em back.
Warrant Officer Grade 3 Alexander Finch Now age 37, Finch is now a much older fellow than he use to be. With his right eye gone, replaced with a cybernetic one, and his heart replaced with a power core, he has become a pinnacle of human survival. A Blue Army officer and a Green Army operator also makes him a very busy man. If he isn't trying to keep the privates from killing themselves, he's saving others from getting killed. He has been through a lot, seen a lot of men died, by the bound with some of the other officers is that next to brotherhood. Finch would never leave a man behind, even if that means he gets left behind too. Some question if his loyalty to Green Army is questionable, but he takes said criticism with his head high.
Greetings, I am Indy Houlka, Warrant Officer 1, admin, and head of the Computers division. Not much is actual known about me, except that I used to be an ONI field agent. He specializes in in nanotechnology, and has a wireless neural implant that allows him to control machinery. He has a clone that is nearly identical to him also on the team, known as Zero.
Before joining Blue Army, I worked as a waitress. My father convinced me that joining Blue Army would be the best way to get out and "See the world". After graduating from Basic Training, I was assigned to 1st Infantry division. I only spent 3 months with that company before I was recommended and sent to Officers Training School. After getting "kicked out" of Officer Training School, I applied for transfer to Alpha Outpost . And as you can see, my transfer was approved.
At first, I specialized in Recon, but soon found my place as the battalion's medic. I'm pretty easy-going and you could say that I'm one of the few average soldiers still standing with the 12th.
Hello, my name is Private Markus Redd and I am a pilot.
Going through pilot’s school was one of my highest goals when I was a kid. You could imagine the joy that I felt once I got the acceptation letter in my inbox one day. I went through the pilot’s school and worked my hardest at all of the tasks that were given to me. I eventually made it through the school as one of the highest scoring students.
Then, I got stuck with a pilot job at West Mountain outpost. There are many combat situations that I could be involved in and I get stuck on a chunk of ice and rock. Well, I hope I get transferred soon. But, since I am at the base now, I might as well try my best at what the personnel at WMO throw at me.
I have had many names over the course of the years; over the course of millennia.
My career as a soldier began long ago and in a unit lost in antiquity. I started as a common soldier serving with the Sixth Ironclad Legion, known officially as Legio sexta Ferrata. Our motto, for those interested, was Fidelis Constans which meant "Loyal and Steadfast". I joined during the Gallic Wars fought under Julius Caesar and rose in rank through the years until I became Primus Pilus of the First File of the First Cohort. It was at that exalted rank that I served in the garrison of Jerusalem in the province of Judea.
It was during this time that Pontius Pilate became Roman prefect of Judea by decree of Tiberius Caesar. The feast called Passover was soon to begin and the order came to arrest a former carpenter, a fanatic, who was subsequently condemned. At a place called Golgotha, in the area of the old wall of Jerusalem, three were brought to be crucified.
At the 6th hour, an unnatural darkness fell. The wind picked up and a storm threatened. The men grew tense, anticipation rose. In the confusion of the storm, we expected an attack by the fanatic’s followers. The ground trembled and the horses were close to panic. At such a moment, I would have attacked and I expected any followers of the fanatic to attack as well. If the fanatic was rescued, at best, Pilate would have condemned all of us to the Galleys; to row in chains for the rest of our hopefully short lives. I did not survive decades in the Legions to come to such an end or to see my men so condemned. Fidelis Constans.
In the tumult; I used a lance to strike a swift thrust to bring the fanatic to a quick end.
Legends tell of those who annoyed the Gods, such as Prometheus and Sisyphus.
In the taking of that life, my death was taken away and I am cursed with eternal life. I can be killed periodically but then wait in a limbo state until returned to life at the age I was when striking the fatal blow.
Subsequent to the destruction of Alpha Omega, I remained in limbo for a time until returned to the living on a planet called Tribute. I resumed an old identity as Free Trader Captain Lucius Longinus Marcellus until contacted by an old friend who drafted me to resume my duties with the 12th Armored Calvary regiment as WO-3 D.B. Marcellus.
Lieutenant Spartan was part of the Spartan 2 program and showed promise in several areas, Tech, Armed Close Combat, heavy weapons, and is an accomplished pistol expert, before the covenant threat he was trained as an anti terrorist S.W.A.T point man. His main area of expertise is armor tech and takes pride in augmenting many styles of armor, from ancient to modern, and will create any armor needed, he is constantly creating and testing new things and due to his "unique" status he is one of the few who is allowed to test them.
it is not uncommon for him to think up a half baked idea and carry it out with full enthusiasm, he often misses the big picture however and this leads to unexpected endings, one such project involved Spartan willingly injecting himself with nanites to control a suit made from plate and a liquid metal,( WHICH WAS MADE IN THE FIRST AOB, check back finch)
Spartan is nearly immune to all small arms weapons and poison(he will always regenerate if given enough time, but he still feels pain), however he is completely dependant on the nanites as they are now part of him, EMPs and tazers are lethal and will kill him, while bullets just cause at most temporary death and pain. During the past few years, the nanites began to degrade his health, and in a last ditch solution he geneticly altered himself with a animal from west mountain making him an anthro hybrid capable of takeing more damage, and halting the damage done by the nanites over time. Fortunately this was caused by the first gen nanites and no others where affected.
Spartan has no pets at the moment.
Personal quote:" EVERYONE CHILL THE FUCK OUT!, I got this shit.”
I am Chief Warrant Officer Grade Four Cameron Bose, and am a Co-Founder of Sigma Outpost. Along with this impressive title, I am also the head of the Communications and Engineering Departments respectively. What this means in laymen's terms is this; I am not the man to piss off. I can cut your bunk out of the power grid, blast "Never Gonna' Give You Up" through your radio, and throw you in a hole all in the same hour. What's more, I have more than enough authority to do it.
Once upon a time, my name was Cabose1995, but a little red medic by the name of Mo decided that was silly, and so began calling me Cameron. The name stuck, and now I am known as Cam. A particularly insane AI took that idea a step farther, and changed all my paperwork to read Cameron Bose. I am truly awestruck that the IRS still knows who to send my tax notices to.
Like any number of people who have been a part of this saga for an extended period of time, I am certifiably insane. I'm told my medic Major Tori Roberts that I experience delusions of grandeur, psychotic hallucinations, extreme megalomania, and psychopathic. Really, its not arrogance if you really are better than everyone, our lives are played out in a Role Playing Game, and I really just don't like a bunch of you. I suppose simplistic answers just aren't military procedure. I have been known to hold abusive tendencies with my rank, but come on, they saw that coming. While its entirely true that I am not the nicest person you could run into, my duties to keep our base functional is extremely important to me. If you've ever got a problem, please message me and I will help to the fullest of my ability.
I have been a part of the Alpha Outpost Saga since the very beginning, and in all these years I have seen things beyond the imaginable. I've helped poor whiskey shoots into the brain of a tank. I've watched a private turn werewolf and eat half of the base. I've seen a schizophrenia rookie change into a psychopathic officer. I've literally died, been to the other side, and come back to the universe we call home. I've even found the secret to immortality. Of all this, my greatest achievement is the thousands of thumbs I've taken from hundreds of snipers.
I am a tall, lankly built man of approximately 28 years of age, though to look into my eyes would suggest I've lived a lifetime more. I have qualified at least marksman with nearly every weapon in the U.N.S.C arsenal, but have never been known to miss a shot with the personalized 44. magnum revolver that rests on my hip.
In closing, I will say this. Alpha Outpost is a horrible place that is filled with psychopathic murderers and felons. It will take your innocence, rape it, then kick out to the curb without even giving it money to call a cab back to Dignity Town, which it has made a point of burning to the ground. It warps every thing you cherish into chaos and mayhem. It is a horrid, awful, hellish, wonderful, beautiful place. It's my home, and I'll be here until I die. Well, die again, anyway.
"This place is a hell hole, and you've got to be satan himself!" "Isn't it delightful?"
My name is Lieutenant Colonel Peter 'Mega' Firebrand and I am in charge of this outpost. I was once part of an ONI special forces team, before one of our missions had disasterous results and saw every member, apart from me, killed. I was then transfered to the twelfth as a Sergeant with my expertise being strategy and tactics, while dabbling in some less than sane science. Eventually, after the death of our previous Base Commander, I was promoted to take the job myself.
Since then I have had a rather interesting life, which includes the discovery of six magical crystals, constant battles with the man who murdered my team and the revelation that two of my team members were still alive. I have had my moments of sanity, and my moments of madness and it is, as of yet, unclear in which of those states I am the most dangerous.
I have stopped aging. I can see the variables in any situation. The weapons and enhancements I have created make me a super soldier. I told command to go fuck itself and got away with it. My Crystals will destroy your reality. I have killed more Captains than most of you have ever met. I destroyed a Covenant Energy Projector on foot. I have a cyborg girlfriend and a reality-bending robot daughter.
Born on Earth in England, he was always put under pressure by his parents to achieve the highest marks. Eventually the stress was too much and he ran away from home. During his time he was missing he stabbed a man for his wallet, but was never caught because Michael was very good at disappearing without a trace. His parents caught him 3 weeks later while the stabbing was being investigated. His parents bribed the judge and most of the jurors, so was let off with a warning.
After that Michael parents had enough, he was put forward for an experimental lobotomy that removed the anger part of his brain to make his sudden mood swings more controllable. Halfway through the operation the surgeon made the mistake of accidentally waking up Michael. They put him to sleep again and undid everything they took apart in his head. Even worse for Michael, they had got the anger part of his brain mixed up with his common sense, and was left with a fraction of common sense, which made him act irrationally.
During college he passed all of his subjects with the highest marks because of his parents and went to university and passed with honors there too. Michael went to military camp for the SAS and was always known as Dragon for his fiery temper. When the SAS were finished with him they shipped him out to stop a Chinese rebel uprising. He was captured and tortured for one and a half years. When the rebels were finally suppressed Michael was released with a new view on life, but no thumbs. The SAS built mechanical thumbs that were of the highest standard of the time, and then gave him a year to recover from the trauma with therapy.
During his year off Michael went to see most of the world and its unique sights, and saving a Komodo Dragon egg from a predator. The egg hatched 3 weeks later and Lilly was in the world, but not alone. As a hatchling she was playful so Michael bought 2 cats, Tom and Jerry, for her to play with. Michael, Lilly, Tom and Jerry developed an understanding that made them more than just pets, they were family.
The STG frigate exited Slipspace, outside of planet Freyja's orbit. The hangar opened and about a dozen dropships were dispatched to the planet surface to move everything to the new base. The ship with the base members immediately dropped everyeone off at the landing pad, while ships carrying vehicles landed in the front of the base.
Indy moves the computer systems, and Sky to the new server room, "Let's get this ready, Zero, go prepare the command room, and unpack our personal belongings."
Zero nods, and sets up the command room for use. He activates the cameras, and the passive sensors,<"Borders secure."> He
Indy grabbed a room in the officer's quarters. Zero carried the box of stuff they owned,"I'll go check the turrets." Indy responded,"Okay, go do that:"
Indy examines the automated defense systems,"Alright, these are running now." He walksover to where Cam is,"They said something about fighting didn't they?"
