MEMO EYES ONLY LT. COL FIREBRAND 12th Armored Calvary regiment
To: Lt. Colonel Peter Firebrand From: WO-3 D.B. Marcellus RE: 1) Chakra - Status Report The recent attack against our base by unknown sponsored forces resulted in Green Army Engineer teams repairing our facilities.
During this period of time, I assisted Captain Palmer in an attack against a U.I.F. supply annex/base on an equatorial island combined with a scientific mission to same island.
During this mission, a U.I.F. Team, disguised as a Green Army team, drove into the base and accessed Hanger 3 and the Chakra. We have thus lost exclusive access to the Vishuddha Chakra.
The U.I.F. Team sustained one casualty but retained the body, thus - as they are using a sentient virus as their means of infusion/linkage, they have the means to access our Chakra should they transfuse the blood of the victim with others in their force.
The U.I.F. Team also sustained loss. First, they lost their senior scientist, one Doctor Akiko Aneko, who is presently prisoner in a Forerunner plate under our control and second, they have lost control of their progenitor sentient virus which is also under our control.
It is obvious from both the means of entry into Hanger 3 and the defeating of all but one of the security measures in place that through the use of the sentient virus they have been able to tap into the powers of the Chakras; specifically tactile omniscience and a proximity omniscience/spirit walking. That combined with the ability to command obedience via vocal commands suggests that such an individual is near unstoppable.
It is this officer's opinion that we must investigate the properties of the 'voice' as it relates to overcoming an individual's free will to determine means to either overcome this forced compliance or minimize its impact. As this would require human experimentation, it will require your assent.
Investigation of both the Chakras and the sentient virus continues.
To: WO-3 D.B. Marcellus From:: Lt. Colonel Peter Firebrand Re: 1) Chakra - Status Report
Before I can give any sort of perimission in regards to these experiments I will first need to know what they entail and how we plan on experimenting at all.
I agree it's vital to understand the specifications of this 'voice', but, at this point, I cannot give informed consent.
For now, however, I think it may be a good idea to remind you that we, too, have access to a limited form of omniscience through the Orange Crystal, drawbacks aside. If you feel it's useful to make use of it, do let me know, and I'll see what I can do.
(Looking for any clues that would let me know where you guys might have gone. It would likely go to Freyja airspace control to figure out if any Pelicans have gone off-world or are flying around somewhere at this moment.)
(Oh. Well it'd get a report that a shipping Pelican was very late for a delivery run, but that's pretty much it. The Freighter was passing by but not actually there for anything more than a fuel top off.)
*After a while of waiting, CalPal receives a message from the Ghost AI. Accessing the terminal in his office, he finds that a Pelican was incredibly late for its shipments, something not seen elsewhere. It was also in the region where Sigma Outpost is.*
That's suspicious. "That could be our guy... we might need to talk to him." Dust'll notice the moment you leave this base. "True, he'll notice me..."
*With that, CalPal started walking around the base, looking for something.*
*Read the memo from Lt. Col. Firebrand then compose a memo in response.*

To: Lt. Colonel Peter Firebrand From: WO-3 D.B. Marcellus RE: 1) Chakra - Human Experimentation
With the progenitor sentient virus in our possession as well as Forerunner plates linked to six of the seven chakras, we should be able to approximate the methodology of the U.I.F.'s human linkage to the Chakras.
Phase One: With a sample of sentient virus, place same in immediate proximity of a Forerunner plate that has been linked to a specific Chakra under study. If the sentient virus takes on the characteristics of the Chakra, we then have a viral capable link. If not, the experiment ends.
Phase Two: Locate a suitable "volunteer". While I would personally have no problem self experimenting with the virus, my body gen/chem make up might alter the experiment. The same would go for anyone exposed to perma-nanites and yourself, due to your experimentation with the crystal powers and the possible change in your genetic/chemical profile.
Based on a psychological profile, I would also exclude from volunteering Captain Palmer and Private Tara Ray.
Based on a reliability profile, I would also exclude WO-1 Mikhailo Markovic due to his being a former disciple/understudy of the Traitor.
With those exclusions and eliminating anyone essential to the unit, the logical choice would be to "volunteer" Private Greenhorn. His recent intoxication during a combat mission suggests that his utility to the 12th is minimum and he makes the optimum expendable candidate for a human experiment volunteer.
Phase Three: Infusion of the sentient virus linked to the Anahata – Heart Chakra.
Linkage to the Anahata – Heart Chakra should bring about the following siddhis, or occult powers: he becomes a lord of speech; he is dearer than the dearest to women; his senses are completely under control and he can enter at will into another’s body.
The powers under review would be 'lord of speech' which implies a voice power to control your opponents and we could also study 'enter at will into another's body' which implies possession.
The other two siddhis are of minimum tactical value.
Phase Four: Private Greenhorn would be tasked with attempting to make verbal commands that can not be disobeyed as well as physical possession of others to determine the extent of those powers as well as a means of defense to combat those powers.
Phase Five: Private Greenhorn would be subjected to electro-magnetic pulse to determine if that is sufficient to kill the sentient virus and eliminate linkage.
If the virus is eliminated, we could then - if necessary - generate another batch of sentient virus linked to another Chakra to study its effect.
Phase "DEEP" Six: If scientific methods fail to eliminate the powers from the private, other means may be employed to eliminate the powers/private should he pose a threat to the unit. To quote another source from the distant past; "That is what expendable means."
*Walking into the mess, CalPal noticed Leonard eating and nodded his head.*
What are you thinking? "I'm surprised you haven't realized it yourself... Sergeant! Down to the garage ASAP!"
*With that, CalPal walked off to his office, intending to prepare his information for him.*
I see now... you're going to send him on a mission to grab this Pelican pilot. I like this; proceed. "It's a good thing I got your approval, because I would've done it regardless." Hence why I gave you approval in the first place.
*Once finished preparing the dossier, CalPal meets Leonard in the motorpool, a datafile in his hand. He hands it over to the Sergeant.*
"You're looking for the pilot of this Pelican. It was delayed in its shipment of goods unlike anything listed anywhere. Bring him here or interrogate him wherever you like, but I want information from him that has anything to relate to Mikhailo or Tara. Can I trust you to do this without much attention from anyone else at this base?"
"I'll join him." Finch said as he crushed a cigarette under his boot while in casual military clothing. "Someone has to keep our new Gunnery Sergeant company." He smirked towards Sgt. Leonard.
"Yes sir. I'll go get prepared." Leonard heads to his bunk, dresses in some civilian attire and conceals his M6-SOCOM on his person. He puts his ODST BDU, M7S, and some sophisticated tracking equipment into a case and carries it down to the motor pool. The Gunnery Sergeant loads the case into the back of a civilian version warthog.
Warrant Officer 4 Cameron Bose was snoring in the back seat. The movement of Leonard placing the bag in the 'hog jostled him to alertness with a "PUT DOWN THAT TACO! Oh, hello there Sargent."

Insurrectionist Medical Doctor Tura Levant *Checks on her patient, Senior Scientist Akiko Aneko, when
Insurrectionist Commander Tyler Madison and Insurrectionist Scientist Tegan Sian enter the room.*
Insurrectionist Commander Tyler Madison *Look down at the patient resting peacefully, a blank but somewhat serene expression on her face.* "How is our girl doing."
Insurrectionist Medical Doctor Tura Levant *Bristle at the out-and-out chauvinism on display.* "Doctor Aneko is physically fine. In fact, she couldn't be better. However, mentally, the lights are off, furniture gone and nobody is home."
Insurrectionist Scientist Tegan Sian "EEG still flatline?"
Insurrectionist Medical Doctor Tura Levant "Totally flat. We can't do an MRI without killing off the sentient virus but if her brain is like her body, it is completely free of damage. As an experiment, we decided to stop turning her to see if there was any skin irritation that would lead to lesions but - nothing. It is as if she is infused with perma-nanites but she is not.
Insurrectionist Commander Tyler Madison "Best medical guess, Doctor; was the infusion with the sixth Chakra the cause of her condition or was something else involved?"
Insurrectionist Medical Doctor Tura Levant "We are dealing with the Twelfth here; I would place a higher probability that they had some sort of trap set up that Doctor Aneko missed which stripped her of her mind rather than a failure of the infusion process as a whole. Unfortunately, the only way to confirm that one way or the other is to leap frog the infusion process with a direct blood transfusion to a new host prior to an attempt to collect the seventh Chakra."
(Speaking of unrelated events, it has been three weeks since post #7398 and unless you have other plans, I'm going to retrieve the prisoner and incorporate him in the Chakra Arc. If you have an objection, respond to this post and I will either release the prisoner back to your care or have him die of sudden heart failure...It has been three weeks.)
*Passing down a corridor one level below the Warrant Officers' Offices, notice an odd smell. Follow it to the Warrant Officers' Conference Room. Open the door and turn on the light to discover a near dead prisoner tied to a chair, having defecated and urinated all over himself.*
"So, this is where Warrant Officer Four Cameron Bose dumped his prisoner."
*Make a quick trip to the med center for a couple of IV bags and a portable stand as well as some cleaning supplies, bags and scissors. Clean up one of the arms and cut the rope then start an IV. Proceed to the med cell and take out its gurney and return to the conference room and transfer the prisoner to the gurney after stripping off his soiled uniform and doing what is possible to get him cleaned up. Start a second IV and then roll the gurney and IV Stand to the Prisoner wing and put him in the Med Cell.*
*With the prisoner cleaned up and abrasions treated as well as his all encompassing rash, transfer him to a life support capsule and set him up with all the life support tie ins necessary to restore some semblance of health.*
*Secure the Med Cell and log in the prisoner so the on duty guards can take care of him. Return to the conference room and clean it up then dispose of the garbage.*
"I can be very discreet, but Makhailo still have questions of mine he has yet to explain." Finch became very cold, almost as if he was in the middle of a mission.
(The point of sensory deprivation torture is to leave the subject with no sense of sight and no interaction with other humans. This will drive them nearer and nearer into insanity, and this is when you switch into physical interrogation. I have not done anything with the subject because I do not know what Finch wants out of him.
I hold no objection to incorporating him into your arc. If you want him, take him.
In his determinate mental state and your saving of his life, he would trust you wholeheartedly. You would not need to torture him further to gain information from him. Simply interview him, and gain the information necessarily for your arc.
I would also recommend telling Warrant Officer Bose that you have taken the prisoner into your care so that he does not assume his escape and send everyone on the hunt. )
