Question: what the fuck am I supposed to do now that I'm officially back in the military? "Push ups." ... What? "Drop and give me 20, you lazy sack of shit!" Dude, I'm inside your head, I'm an AI, and how the hell are you going to prove - "No sass-talking me, you decrepit asshole!" You're going to enjoy this a lot, aren't you? "Without question..."
*Return to the AI Cave and take a sample from the IV bag. With sample in hand, proceed to the Iso-Lab and run it through the electron micoscope.* "Looks like we have success."
*Back in the AI Cave, take the central console's center seat. Reconnect the output and input lines back into Dr. Aneko's Console.* "Have fun while I was gone?"
Insurrectionist Scientist Akiko Aneko "Bastard!"
"Got it in one."
Insurrectionist Scientist Akiko Aneko "You have the soul of a torturer. In your previous lives, did you ever work for the Spanish Inquisition."
"Not the Spanish Inquisition, per se. I've been a member of the Roman version of the Inquisition on a few occasions. It is now known as the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. In fact, I sat in on the trial of Galileo Galilei in 1633."
Insurrectionist Scientist Akiko Aneko "Why does that not surprise me. So, where do we go from here."
"Cooperation leading to a change of allegiance. One of the many rumors concerning Green Army is that certain Sects have to goal to better mankind as a whole, not through leadership but by creating a pathway of transcendence to a higher level of enlightenment. Of course there are those Sects who have a more Teutonic version of progression. The Chakra research can go in either direction. My money is on your Sect being more light oriented."
Insurrectionist Scientist Akiko Aneko "I find it hard to believe that you are some sort of light bringer."
"And, why is that so difficult to believe? There are neither decks of playing cards nor mirrors in Limbo; yet one has the opportunity to look deep inside oneself and make decisions after long periods of reflection."
Insurrectionist Scientist Akiko Aneko "Unlike you; I think better when playing solitaire."
*Reset the games module to Dr. Aneko's chassis.* "I'll be back later after you've had some time to consider."
*Place the Chakra plate involved in the experiment with the sentient virus into a carry case and the IV bag into a field medical kit then leave the AI Cave with both.*
"God, that's totally never going to be confusing. Also been a long time since I've heard that..." Oh god, this really happened... Calvin, please mop up the floors so I can get a promotion! Or clean the gun barrels! "Sorry, I have to deal with more logistical stuff..." Shit.
*After a brief stop at the Iso-Lab, proceed to and sign into the Prisoner Wing. Process into the cell of the Merc.*
Mercenary Trooper - Sam McDougle "Do I get a final meal?"
"Why?"
Mercenary Trooper - Sam McDougle *Shake my head.* "Tradition, maybe?"
*Hand over a clipboard with paperwork and a pen.* "Read, then sign and initial these documents." *While the prisoner is reviewing and signing the various forms, put on both leather inner gloves then outer PVC gloves and take out the plate from its case.* *Collect the clipboard and the pen. Verify that the signatures and initials are in the proper places.* "Put your hand on the plate."
Mercenary Trooper - Sam McDougle "You'll - "
"If the insurance company fails to pay off, I'll make the full payment out of personal funds. You have my word as a Free Trader Captain."
Mercenary Trooper - Sam McDougle "Then, I guess that is that." *Reach out and touch the plate.*
*Pick the mercenary up off the floor of the cell and place him back into the bed. Return the plate into its carry case then with case and paperwork, depart the cell.*
*At the desk, advise the trooper on duty that the prisoner has slipped into a coma and that I would return later to take charge of the body.*
5 gold is not a meme is a meme. "What the flying literal fuck are you talking about, Private? Well you see - aw shit, you had to pull rank on me in the process, too... "Don't worry, I'm sure the habit will eventually die down." Just remember I'm in the shoes you were in two years ago! Umm, sir. Please. "Heh, I'll consider it..."
*After a trip to the AI-Cave to re-install the Anahata Chakra Plate, verify the print out is on-line while the audio out is off-line then link the chassis to its own game data pack. After securing the AI-Cave, proceed to the Mess to get a fresh cup of coffee before starting the grizzly work of processing the body of the Merc.*
"Bit of a downer today. I just gave that merc prisoner a choice between death and death with a purpose. Not much of a choice. So, he is now infused into a Chakra plate."
*Arrive in the mess.*
"By the way, the next time you send out an Alex clone to snoop around the University areas that are being used by the Techno-Masons, see if he can get a clear idea of where his brothers are specifically located and also if there are any surveillance cameras in the area that he can sneak a peak through."
"Merc prisoner... you mean the one from the attack a few weeks ago? Damn..." Wow, I never even remembered him. Those past 3 weeks must've really sucked. Also - ungh! Imagine the stench... "Haven't paid the University a visit in a while, now that you mention that... I'll see what I can dig up." You mean what I'll dig up... "..." *sigh* What I'll dig up... sir. "Huh? Oh sorry, I was distracted with something else. Thanks for the manners though, Alex." UNGH!!
"Yes, he is now among the honored dead, or will soon be when I kill of what is left of his organic body then finish the paperwork. The Insurance Company then pays out his policy to his next of kin."
Arrive in the Galley and start to fix up a pot of coffee.*
"I've been getting a bad feeling on this Chakra affair. We need to knock one of the principles on their collective ass and the easiest will be the Techno-Masons."
"Makes sense." We have the added benefit of having a personal motive for seeing them fall, too... should we get to work on that? "I guess that wouldn't be such a bad idea... I'll see what I can do, Dust."
*As he makes his way to the sim suite, CalPal notices the five gold pieces landing outside. Confused, he goes to pick them up and examine them in his head.*
WELL. This is... interesting. <Hey, someone double-check the space over our base? We got five gold coins that came from the sky.> Or we can just pocket it and keep it for ourselves. "Well that goes without saying, but this doesn't seem right to have five gold coins come from nowhere at all."
"Is that so? Hmm..." Pocket it! Pocket it and get a nice home on the outskirts of Asgard! "If no one else claims its theirs, I'll see what we could do with this." Woot! Riches, bitches! "Anywho, how are you doing Zero?"
<... Gold catapult? I have to see this for myself.> There are just so many questions I want to ask about this, but they're all washed away with that one simple statement: "This is the 12th." Pre-motherfucking-cisely.
"I did, but if you don't mind, I really want to see this golden catapult in action. Alex would like to see as well." This is basically my equivalent of going to Disneyland, only when you destroy something, everyone cheers you instead of kicking you out and suing for damage.
*With toast and coffee finished, clean up then leave.*
*Stop by the Med Center and collect a gurney then return to the Prison Wing and sign in and then out with the Merc's body.*
*Back at the Med Center, take the genetic markers as well as retina prints and fingerprints then terminate the body.*
*After logging in the data and filing the necessary report with the insurance company and receiving receipt, verify that there were no special handling requirements of the remains and take the body down to the lower levels and to the incinerator.*
*Back in my office, process the e:paperwork and send a letter of condolences to the Merc's Sister along with the insurance file.*
