He wasn't at the awards show. Or the watch party. It doesn't seem like he's involved with anything in the company anymore other than AH which is his baby anyway. I realize it's all conjecture but maybe Geoff had some sort of falling out with Burnie or something. Whatever the reason, I hope he doesn't leave.
That's the scenario I'm most worried about. If it's family related, I wish Geoff, Griffon and Millie the best, and hope things sort themselves out. If its literally a falling out... idk. I just have a hard time imagining RvB minus Grif, or Achievement Hunter minus Geoff. It would be like Star Trek without Picard.
Edit: Seriously though, here's what we know for absolutely sure:
Griffon doesn't work at RT anymore (for reasons unknown)
Gus did not refer to Geoff by name in the podcast (with the Crackdown lock-on comment in #148)
Geoff doesn't seem to be as prolific as he once was in Achievement Hunter.
Rooster Teeth has made no official statement with regards to his status within the company.
I don't know the dude personally or anything, but I feel like it's not polite to make rampant speculations about what happened here. The facts paint a sad picture, though, a sad picture that I hope I'm wrong about.
I hope the facts (limited as they are) paint the wrong picture as well. I really would like to hear his sarcasm and distinctly individual sense of humor back on the podcast. Here's to hoping that Ben's comment about Geoff and vacation time is an indicator that that's all it is. I'm worried just a bit though, seeing as his vacations from the podcasts themselves generally aren't this long. Maybe he's been busier than usual?
Anyway, I agrree with Perc's comment that making "rampant speculations" probably isn't the right thing to do.
Pretty sure Geoff is still with them, seeing as how AH recently released a video with the One Handed Video Game Challenge which was inspired because of Geoff's finger being unbendable. Plus, he's still on doing P.I.G/H.O.R.S.E
The podcasts were in a bit of a draught, no offense, when both Burnie "Mt Fuiji" Burns and Geoff Lazer Ramsey were absent. At least we got Burnie back, right? Geoff's just playing a bunch of video games or whatever - let's be happy for him instead, right?
I think we can officially throw out any theories of a rift or feud or whatever. They just released the RTAA sirts and in the store, Geoff is posing for one of them, so I think we can safely assume that there's no "problem", maybe he just doesn't want to do the podcast anymore, or it conflicts with other stuff he does for AH. Still, would be nice to have him around now and then.
And its not any home problems, He and Griffon are always chatting it up on twitter and anyone who saw the cowboy steak series of tweets can figure everything is fine.
How long after the discussion of Griffon being into furries was it when Geoff stopped being on the podcast? I wondered if Griffon requested of him not to be involved anymore because of his discernment of what stories to tell. That might make sense given her resignment from RT, as well. She might want to feel like she can be successful without simply riding the coattails of an already-successful company, so he's been relatively silent regarding her current projects...and we all know that the podcast is the place to say too much.
Geoff may very well be aiding Griffon in getting her new project off the ground in a quiet manner. It's possible that Rooster Teeth could only be a part-time endeavor for Geoff for the time being, as a result. That said, I wonder whether he will eventually choose to leave RT altogether, working full-time alongside his wife. While it would be disappointing to see a staple of the production go, could you really blame him?
As previously stated in this thread alone, Griffon didn't want to be only associated with RoosterTeeth, so she went and made her own project, the FORT. She has done a stream, and is actually running pretty well organized art project. They had been taking some vacations, because they're allowed to do that. Lately, Achievement Hunter has been incredibly busy. Geoff even said "I put out over 400 videos a week, what do you mean where have I been?" And if that's not enough, both Geoff and Griffon are on twitter. As far as anyone should be concerned, Geoff has been found, working on Achievement Hunter videos and living his life, being a husband and #1 father. It's elementary my dear Watson. Case closed.
My concern isn't that he already quit Rooster Teeth. I can see his journals and I follow both of them on Twitter. I even follow the FORT on Twitter and Griffon on Tumblr, as well. That wasn't in question...at all. My observation is based solely on the fact that he went from a core, forming member of one of the company's most popular products to having zero association for over half a year. The one time he gave any explanation on the podcast was a pre-recorded bit months ago. That lack of acknowledgment or discussion regarding his absence from something he once was so intrinsic on says quite a bit.
Hundreds of AH videos or not, the question is regarding the lack of his presence on the podcast. It's ludicrous to believe that vacations and busy-time account for each and every of Geoff's dozens of missed podcasts. That's hardly an indictment--just an observation.
This whole thread's cumulative speculation is just that--speculation. I was merely offering my own. Thanks for the utterly unnecessary condescending nonsense.
