If you could translate any video game into a movie what would it be? Weather its because it would make a genuinely awesome movie or it would just be freaking hilarious, share it here!!!! Have fun! Be creative :D
Pong. If they can make a movie out of Battleship, they can bullshit their way to a full script. I'd like it to be a comedy or maybe a dramedey, because anything else would be a bit of a stretch given that it would be based on Pong. And I would have NPH, the 9th and 10th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant), a majority or all of the cast of Firefly, Liam Neeson and Meryl Streep (to name a few) star in it..
Indigo prophecy (though I would change the "monsters" up a little for film) or Alan Wake(even though I know they had the web series for Wake for a while). Granted they are similar games, but they have a good story and narrative, could be interesting.
If they had done Alice in Wonderland like Alice:Madness Returns, I would have been more intrigued by that movie.
agreed and it would have worked well considering they were already heading that direction, they probably should of pushed a little bit more for the film. I think they could of got away with it without really losing any audience
I'm pretty sure they have a Dead Space movie in the works already, remember hearing about it a while back. Haven't heard anything recently about it though...
I'd like to see a Mass Effect movie that did NOT involve Commander Shepard. I know this probably sounds odd, but because the events of the Mass Effect games change drastically depending on how the player plays the game, I wouldnt want to see a movie that creates one single "real" Mass Effect storyline. The ME novels have done a good job of staying true to the ME universe and pulling in characters from the games (e.g., Captain Anderson, Aria T'Loak, etc) without defining anything about Shepard's actions that would be defined by a player.
Also, i agree with the sentiment wanting an Assassin's Creed movie. I started playing 2 Assassin's Creed games (the original and Brotherhood) and was sucked in by the story, but quickly turned off by the painful repetitive nature of the gameplay. I would, without question, watch an AC movie to experience the story without suffering through the game itself.
i was watching the scenes the other day while playing starcraft 2 , id love to see a movie made with those graphics, i think itd be amazing as long as they kept the main characters raynor, tychus, horner, kerrigan and so on.
i would have to say a Halo movie could work out it they gave it another shot. After seeing the live action trailers for Halo3, ODST and Reach I think it could be pretty good. They would have to stay away from the games and probably have it during the Fall of Reach or something similar.
Fallout, Bioshock, Devil May Cry, Borderlands. The fallout universe is incredibly deep and intriguing, and would make a great setting for a film, though whether it could do justice to the games and the atmosphere and feeling which the games create, is debatable. Bioshock would make a great film in general, a film based on the first game in particular would translate well based on the characterisation of Ryan, Sinclair, and the despair and meloncholy surrounding the splicers and big daddies. Dante from DMC would simply make a damn cool film protagonist, and whilst the story works best as a game, it would be nice to see. Borderlands could be done well, maybe as something of an action-film rat race/wacky races.
Fallout is possible, but would alienate some viewers because of the wanderers decisions. I can see some scenes though, like a trailer, a gunfight in Paradise Falls, the GNR battle, and the last battle.
I would agree, though I think the Fallout universe itself lends itself well to a film, rather than the specific storyline of any of the games, particularly due to player decisions. But a film with a new story, quite possibly in a new part of America, which ties in with and references past games, much like New Vegas does, would work well. It would just be another medium for expanding, rather than one for retelling, the story and setting.
the movie the book of eli is kinda like the fallout idea for a movie.... uhm...the road is kinda like it too in a way they are both post apocalypse movies, and pretty good......just sayin...lol
In my opinion the only good film ever based off of a game was Sonic the hedgehog (old animated film but it worked)
based on the assumption that they make the film good (and not repeating the ones that have already been said), I would have to go for either Elder Scrolls Oblivion or Duke Nukem
maybe just make better tomb raider movies? Maybe due a new Final Fantasy movie, oo or even dead space movie but i can imagin that been alot like a crap version of alien... oo maybe a MS SPLOSION MAN movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
