After listening to the past weeks podcast, I feel that going out of there way to make Gav look stupid is retarded. Seems try hard, I would hate to be constantly paid out and being called a "dumbass". Gav should at least toss a "fuck you" in their direction lol. Overall verdict, would rather here more stories and RT related stuff than trying to make Gav look stupid.
Exactly. That's where it feels the most forced. It's like they're constantly trying to recapture the lightning in a bottle that was Gavin's Headlight Fluid Mishap. It seems as if they're just looking for reasons to call Gavin a moron before finding out if--on the given subject--he actually is.
Don't get me wrong; I don't mind hearing them re-hash stories I've heard before. It's only the consistent forced attempt at calling people idiots with no more than an opinion to back it up that gets tiresome...not that it will keep me from tuning in every week, mind you.

Mega64 certainly have remained funny for their 200+ podcasts. There is something so consistent about their off-beat humor. I would hate to say they have something that I don't see in Rooster Teeth, but it seems the mutual respect that those guys have for each other runs a little thicker than RT. That could lend itself to the cohesiveness of their troupe, maybe? Or am I completely off track, do you think?
Yea, I love the podcast just as much as the next person but I would rather the whole Gav situation to just be toned down a few. Hopefully the beta testing (don't know if it has been said what it is already) thing Burnie keeps talking about for the podcast has something where users can submit topics for them to talk about in a segment or something along those lines, I reckon that would be cool.
Maybe it is the respect thing, I also think the fact they only have 3 core members helps the fans distinguish who is behind the scenes and who is always going to be there for the fans (Not even Garrett is officially included).
With RT we see a lot of new employees, employees that we don't necessarily like, but with no confirmation of what role they have; I think sometimes I fear that Burnie and co. will start taking a back seat role. Of course they can do what they want, but they risk alienation of fans if they carry on putting more unknown employees in front of camera. Most of the fans love RT because they love Burnie, Joel and Gus, to name a few, so they should try and keep them in most of their media output. These days I skip any AH video that doesn't have Geoff, Jack or Gavin in it, and the new RT shorts aren't the best creations they've put out.
I loved Geoff's stories and laughing on the podcast, they added a lot to the atmosphere and made it great. I miss him when i'm listening to the current ones. If one of the favorite characters on a TV show suddenly disappeared, wouldn't people get curious? I'm not talking starting an online petition-curious....just posing a simple query on a forum-curious.
I spoke very similarly here, posts number 87 & 89. Specifically 89 pertains to what you're saying, and I find it disturbing that the only responses Geoff have given have been "I put out hundreds of videos a week; what do you mean where do I am?" and "I've been busy." To quote myself, "That lack of acknowledgment or discussion regarding his absence from something he once was so intrinsic on says quite a bit."
There's definitely some conflict going on here, surely Jack would be just as busy as Geoff if that was the case, and Geoff can't be busy with RvB because Burnie finds time to be on.
Actually I have experienced burgarly and my mates where there for me at the time but afterwards we joked about it. Just because you have a different sence of humor with your friends dosnt mean they are bullying him. Jack has stated multiple times how much he loves working at roosterteeth and Gav moved around the world to live and work with them. Those are not actions someone who is being bullied would make. I did feel they stayed on the queen and pancake topics a bit too long but apart from that i think the last few podcasts have been great.
Yes exactly, you laughed together about it afterwards, a bit different than laughing when he's not there, to thousands of listeners, days after.
I'm sure they do love working there, you don't have to not like working somewhere if you're being bullied. If you think Jack isn't bullied on a daily basis, both by RT fans and friends alike then you must be pretty naive.
Yea a Q&A would be awesome, just something that the audience can have interaction with the podcast more. I'm sure that they have already thought of things along the lines of what we are talking about, excited to hear what they have instore when they reveal it.
I don't understand your point, regardless of whether it's free it still has an audience either way. I would have probably paid for the podcasts if they did cost money. Whether someone has paid for content or not the audience can't change the way the content is made, but they can suggest improvements if they want. In multiple posts in this thread I have stated that they can do what they want, doesn't mean I'll still listen.
And who's we? I wasn't even replying to you when I said that?

If you think Jack isn't on the receiving end of a lot of abuse (both on and off the podcast) you're either stupid, ignorant or both.

You're just throwing around your opinion as a fact so I called you out on it. Stick to your suggestions and it's not an issue. Calling out people who disagree isn't exactly a way to get people on your side or change made.
The thing you don't understand about free content is how people feel like they're owed something because they love it so much. Some of us don't feel that way because it's free content and it's hard to complain about entertainment you get for free.
Verbally beating up Gavin isn't something new. At all. Been there since the beginning. I mean the audience REALLY loves Gavin IMO because he is closest to their age group. I didn't see this thread calling out Burnie for making fun of Geoff for wrecking a vespa. Or when Jack filmed Burnie eating shit on Tony Hawk Ride? He was putting that video up EVERYWHERE. They still act like jerks to each other. I think you asking for changes isn't a bad thing. But I like their "make fun of each other" personalities.
This isn't the first thread of it's kind. A person who hasn't really posted on the drunktank forums before is just dropping by and explaining how to improve it all. I just find it very odd when people have one thread in the forums but no other posts.
I am well aware he is still present at Roosterteeth, he is just no longer on the podcast. The whole thing was created because of the bet between him and Burnie. He sat in on a mojority of the episodes up to #100. The podcast just feels empty without him.
Yeah, I completely agree with him. I was just giving him shit for not getting my "joke".
The three of us all have valid points, and its just weird that 1.) the RT staff hasn't explicit explained this absence (even by just saying "hey he's busy") and 2.) certain members of this forum are getting so damn upset that we are curious as to his absence.
So you spotted a discrepancy in my posts, I am only human, however I do agree that I may have been a little too strong with my wording when I posted that.
Did you even read my post? Excluding the fact that at the start of this thread I said "it doesn't really concern rooster teeth whether I stop listening or not"

Where here did I say that I have ownership over their content? Or that they have to make a change? You seem to be extremely protective of any negative criticism on their content, do you not think it's possible for some peple to dislike what they do?

I didn't realise I had to have posted on these forums to know anything about the podcast, this kind of elitism on internet forums over people who hasn't posted is typical and a little sad. I have probably been a fan of Rooster Teeth longer than you have, if you first joined in 09. I never had an interest to join this site because I hate using forums, I thought I'd give it a go this year because people talk about the great community that is here, I do hope posters like you are a one off occurrence.

It's not very hard to spot any discrepancy's in ANYTHING you post buddy. See bolded above. Besides the point was completely mistaken there. What I'm saying is that when I read other posts on this FORUM, I'm more likely to take it seriously if I know the person. Either through other threads or otherwise.

Again if you posted in other threads you would see me take my share of jabs at RT for never posting in this particular forum. This was actually the last big topic I was here for before all of this "where is Geoff" stuff. However, the only thing I was really protective of from the beginning was you calling out others with different opinions. You say you're "suggesting improvements" but I say I don't think it's possible because that's just the personality these guys have.
Simply put though: I like the podcast. Burnie and the guys ALL RIP EACH OTHER. I feel like that's their personality. It's also all for the sake of the joke. I've never felt like it was bullying. I do the same with my friends so I get a lot of jokes targeted to me. They're my friends though so I let these things go because jokes are funny. I hope they don't change but I want others to enjoy the podcast. This can't be mutually exclusive.
Where have I insulted him on his opinion, apart from the posts where I agreed I had been too harsh? I don't understand what either of you are trying to say anymore, and iamjohngait's messages are getting so bloody cryptic I'm struggling to work out what I'm supposed to reply with. Unless you were trying to point out my minuscule post count again.
Anyways, well done on successfully derailing the thread to the both of you.
