I was wondering how many people still have their original consol from when they were a kid. I grew up with the Sega Genesis and I still have it, it still works, and I still use it. What about everyone else?
I still have my original console, in working condition and with many classic games. The Atari 2600.
My list of working consoles also includes: Three Nintendo Entertainment Systems Five Genesis' (One Gen1, Three Gen2, One Gen3) One Sega CD One 32X etc. etc. etc....
My NES broke when I was younger so i have been looking to buy one, but the oldest system i have right now is my SNES. I also have my Megaman X and Chrono Trigger. Great games and love them to death!
Bought My N64 sometime in 1998 and had it around till 2008 where unfortunately it broke and I finally got a Nintendo Wii. I ended up completely bypassing the Gamecube Era :p .
Though I do still own my working Transparent Purple Gameboy Color with Its copys of Pokemon Yellow + Blue if that counts for anything
My - or technically my brother's - SNES and original Gameboy are still fine and working. Some of the games aren't working properly anymore, though. I can't believe these things are as old as me.
I forgot about my Gameboy. Mine is the same way, it's sort of an heirloom of my siblings. Me being the youngest, I still have it, with all but one of the games I originally had for it.
I have them on emulators if that counts... lol, but when we got a new system my parents threw away the old one. I don't know why, but they never kept them. The longest I've actually had a system is my xbox 360 I got in like 2006, and it still works amazingly.
I still have the old SEGA Master System II that I grew up with, and it's still in working condition. Although the video cable is a bit wobbly, causing the video quality to drop somewhat.
I also still have all of my old games for it, and they're fortunately all in near-mint condition. Or well, except for my copy of Wonderboy III the Dragon's Trap since I, to my great displeasure, lost the case for it.
I have a working Nintendo Game & Watch Donkey Kong, circa 1982.
The original screen cover has long since peeled off, and the orange battery cover has been replaced with a purple battery cover, but it stil works. No music effects, and minimal sounds, but a ground breaking classic. Dual screen action as Mario battles barrels being thrown by Donkey Kong, as Mario attempts to rescue the princess. If he does, the level restarts but with faster barrels.
I have my original SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox, and basically all of my cartridges (sold some of the disk games), but I'm missing several games that i know i didn't sell :(
My parents sold my SNES when I was still a wee child (so like 15 years ago), but I still have my N64, PS1, PS2, Gameboy Color, and my Gameboy Advance. The consoles still work, but I'm not entirely sure about the Gameboys.
