This is the first time I've ever wanted anything to do with Kinect. Although it would be hard to explain to my parents why I'm shouting Fus ro Dah at my TV.
I agree, this is the first time Kinect voice support actually looks like it will work well with the system. And c'mon, who hasn't wanted to shout a dragon shout and have it actually do something?
I think it will. If it works as well as as the add did(which it might not.) The controlling your ally seemed the best part. But I don't see why you would need Kenect and not just a mic though.
i was very excited about the sorting commands, that will help out a lot. the shouts were pretty cool too, but people will think I'm an idiot for screaming at my tv in a different language.

Kinect has a lot of built in functions. In order to make this system work with a microphone, they would need to build the whole system from scratch.
When I first heard the news, I dreaded the thought that it'd be something completely strange, like swinging your sword around to incorporate "cheap realism". However, when I watched the video, I found it to be quite nice to be able to command your followers with your voice.
Of course also the amazing feeling you surely will get from yelling a shout. Might gain you some weird looks from family, but who cares. You're the Dragonborn.
I've long thought that this is the best way to implement Kinect for core games and the commands for quick switching weapons, quick saving and of course the shouts look really impressive. I don't think I'll bother with the companion commands though...because I don't at the moment anyway. Just run Lydia...attack that thing!
