I started playing TF2 a couple years ago, around the Sniper vs. Spy update. I had loads of fun, then came hats. Hats were awesome, I longed for one and when I finally crafted my very first I was ecstatic. Then, I slowly watched the game I held so dearly fall away from me. Too many promo items to keep straight was defiantly a problem. Finally the Free to Players. I held the TF2 community in such high regard that I was crushed when annoying little kids could just jump straight into my beloved TF2. I still play Team Fortress from time to time, but it isn't the same...
I still play occasionally, but now with all the mods that have been put on it, it gets so damn laggy. Anyone can do anything, and there is no challenge anymore.
I've had some pretty great Engi experiences. One time we were all on a roof building up each other's sentries and dispensers. Our solid wall of defense won the match.
It's definitely fun on attack and defend. Teleporters are invaluable it seems for offense, and turrets are super effective on defense if you stay with them.
I just started play a little wile ago and I enjoy the game alot. I have about five hours clocked and majority of them are as a medic. Its really fun for me because I prefer to be support. Yeah I'm a noob especially with this question. I can't figure out how to trade( it says I'm not allowed to) or get new items w/o paying for them or finding them.
I know that feel. It almost felt (as dumb as it sounds) "commercialized". I get the same feeling from a lot of modern DLC, but TF2 was built around wholesome community gaming. If rampant hacking and cheating don't ruin the experience, the 10y olds will. (No offence to any 10y olds, its just statistics)
I started playing so I could get that experience of playing with a bunch of other people so we could collaborate and actually use some strategy to win, but it's free to play, so I don't think I'll find anyone mature enough to create a team.
Team Fortress 2 used to be great. People would actually participate, talk on mics to actually communicate with the team, and stuff like that.
Over time, I'm not sure what happened (Maybe the change to Free to Play), but those number of participating people started to diminish. It used to be based on the TF2 community, but now it seems to be based on who has the best hats.
No, unfortunately, even back then my computer was really bad, so I didn't go into specific teamwork servers, as I'd always disconnect and let people down.
Yeah, it's so terrible. That's why I cannot play League of Legends, as not only do I let teams down, but it is also against the rules to disconnect mid-game. Ho-hum.
It's pretty good, it's basically the same thing as DOTA 2 (if you've played it), as it's an action RTS based on destroying the other team's towers and such. The only huge difference is that DOTA 2 has a large large learning curve, as League of Legends is a little more noob friendly.
I won't be able to judge it's connectivity, because my computer is unreliable with network (average of 15 FPS yeah.).
I play League of Legends almost everyday, I've slowed down a lot. PyBro, you should at least give it a try. It can take awhile to get used to, but once you have a good game you're pretty much hooked. I've got maybe 10 - 15 people to play it and they all love it now. Shit even my girlfriend plays it. If you ever want to play it just add me on there. My username in LoL is the same as on here.
As for Team Fortress 2, I played it after it became Free to play and put 75.9 hours into that game according to steam and I had fun with it, but the whole thing got boring fast. Now with the steam workshop I am done for good.
