I'm talking about big title you avoided for any reason. For me recently it was Skyrim. When it came out I had exams to do and I knew if I bought it I just wouldn't stop playing it. Anyone else?
AC:Revelations...i bought ac:brotherhood in the codex box and in the end i was so disapointed of the game.was the worst ac part for me.so i didnt want to get rev.but my friends bought it and i found the limitef edition for 16€.good that rev is so much better again
I've avoided the Mass Effect series like the plague. It's not that I wouldn't like it, because I like the game mechanics and all, but my brain doesn't seem to want to come anywhere near it.
I've been avoiding Mass Effect 3. Not because I don't like it, but because I've been avoiding spoilers about it, because I want to play the series. So far the only thing spoiled is, "the ending isn't exactly what I wanted so now I'm angry."
Only games that i see a review for that does't sound good. Usually a review can make or break it with me. I always TRY to play new games, to keep a open mind.
Up until recently I refused to play Star Wars: The Old Republic for the same reasons I never played the World of Warcraft games, I didn't want to get addicted. Recently though it was on sale, only £25 for the game, I still had to pay the full £20 for the subscription, but at £45 it was cheaper than the game was normally, so I thought fuck it. I'm glad I decided to buy it, having a blast with it, and I'm not addicted to it either.
I have also pretty much avoided the mass effect series because i would always find something that intrests me but then finding something in the game mechanic i didnt like and confusing me on whether or not to buy it or not to waste my money.
Personally I have avoided the Mass Effect, Basically I don't have the attention span to be able to sit down and play the game, especially since the decisions in one game make a big difference in the others, Would need to play them all in order to get the full effect and I just could not do it.
Skyrim because I don't have the time and Halo 3, Reach (and 4 soon) because my first and only Xbox broke before it came out(and the last time I let a certain friend of mine borrow anything). Call of Duty after MW2 - ovious reasons.
I wanted to play using my imported saves, ad since I was out of country for months after it's release, anything bought up was immediately followed by earmuffs and LA-LA-LA-LA-LA sound effects.
All of the Call Of Duty games, they may be awesome games and all but i have never felt the urge to play them. It's rather been the opposite, I've avoided them :s
Basically all casual games with store release (although there are some really good arcade casual games). And Viva Pinata. Tried it for a few days and couldn't stand it.
I've avoided any game for PC. I have a PC and could play any of those games if I really wanted to. I just don't. I feel it would suck too much of my time from gaming on Xbox. And I hate keyboard controls. I have been tempted to get The Old Republic, and now I am considering getting The Witcher 1 because I finished The Witcher 2 on Xbox.
MW3, I avoid that like it will give me cancer in the nuts.
Also, I have been avoiding The Old Republic. I like BioWare and Star Wars, but pay to play MMO's aren't my thing. Maybe I'll change my mind once I try it.
I was avoiding The Old Republic as well for that very reason. But I tried it at a friends and it is rather fun. But not enough to make me pay monthly fees for it. I would love to keep playing it though, I do love Star Wars and Bioware.
fallout, around the time I got sick playing FPS game. One day I rented for my brother and got bored decide to try it out love it and then decide to try oblivion love that too. the only game I avoid is the COD series.
So as far as I can remember I've been avoiding anything to do with Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, ( Though I gotta admit Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for 3DS does look adorable :3 ) . Basically I've never had a chance to own a copy of any the games, and being such a huge franchise already with so many passionate fans it does seem a little daunting to get into
I tend to shy away from almost every generic fps game that isn't Halo or Battlefield. Those two just seem to change things up with Halo's bright colors and Battlefields destructible environments.
I realise I will be shunned from society forever for even mentioning this but I have to agree with Brandon, Though I own a copy of Skyrim and have played approximately 50hrs I still don't get the same amount of enjoyment out of it or get as emotionally involved with the Story as I do with other games, Skyward Sword for example. also the world, though intense and beautiful, I personally find a little bleak at times and unoriginal. Just imagine if they had spread the theme out a little, so the World includes a massive Green and flourishing forest, a dying desert or Volcanic Theme.
I love Rockstar, but I always wait for six months to a year so I can get the GOTY editions. Its usually way cheaper than buying the DLC piecemeal. I'm doing it with Max Payne 3 too.
