Am I the only Multi-Player whore?

I just find that with games now adays I just struggle to sit down and play the campaign. I seem to be more willing to buy a new game and jump straight into multiplayer blind than I am to play the campaign and learn the controls and the story. There just seems to be something about campaigns in games nowadays that don't keep the player gripped and doesn't delevop a attachment between character and player. I must admit there is a part of me which is ashamed that I'm no longer a hardcore gamer completing every mission and finding every achievement in the game but I just don't seem willing to do it anymore. Maybe it's just me :S

I used to be like this, well, by that I mean I'd only play Multiplayer, because I still agree that quite a lot of Campaigns/Single Player Modes have lost their flair recently...

...Granted it's a bit unfair to say that they all have, because there have been a few that were surprisingly brilliant, but too many have declined in quality over the years...

...And that's a damn shame, but that being said, I do always go through and clear the Campaign/Single Player Mode on the hardest difficulty to sample whatever experience I can get from it...and honestly, even MW3 managed to somewhat impress me...though that was probably because my expectations were somewhere in the negative...

I never play the Multiplayer before the campaign unless they're almost like two separate games.

I'll spend most the time doing campaign first, but I will take a quick look at the new maps (new halo games). I I do agree that campaigns have taken a dive the last few years.

Certain games are just multiplayer driven like CoD that's where the money is but the campaigns really suffer for it though very sad.

In reply to HelloIamDrew, #5:

Right they only toss in a story so they can say it's a new game and not a map pack. =/

I definitely consider myself more of a multiplayer fan and I agree there is that shame sometimes that I don't go hardcore for the single player and achievements, but the thrill and realness of the competition of multiplayer just excites me more these days.

The way i see it is that if im going to spend £40 on a game, it needs to have more then a 5-10 hour Story, it needs to have multiplayer that i will still be enjoying in a month or two.

Or a good Co-op experience. I think this is why Halo is still such a big game for me.

I'm the opposite, lately I've been getting bored of the multiplayer and have been going back to campaign to achievement hunt.

It really depends on the game for me. I barely made it through the single player for Modern Warfare 3, but won't do online at all in other FPS's like Singularity.
