First of all i just want to clarify that i LOVE the Rooster Teeth podcast.
Although one thing that has consistently annoyed me is that the audo clips really badly when someone yells or laughs really loudly. Im not an audio tech so i have NO idea how to fix it, but does anyone have any suggestions? Every time it happens it sounds like my speakers are going to explode :\
I have a feeling its something that would need to be fixed during the recording.
remember when they talked about Kara doing her scream on the podcast, they didn't have her do it because the mics aren't perfect. loud things are usually in the moment and can't really be addressed in an instant.
At any rate it would need to be done when recording (using another peice of hardware or software) Its not a huge issue, just one that would make the podcast a little more listenable :)

Clip means the wave going past the headroom point, and squaring off at the peak, or distortion, and i can confirm that there is very little distortion in the podcast recordings.
My advice is, stop using speakers, and get yourself a decent set of headphones. Here are a few that are decent for the money.
Not only will the audio quality improve, but you can also listen louder without disturbing others, and that "clipping" will go away, since im pretty sure what you're hearing is the voice coil of your speakers leaving the magnetic gap of the motor structure. :3
Its odd. I use multiple speakers. High end car speakers, Logitech G930's and Sennheiser CX300II and they produce this distorted sound that only comes up when someone yells or laughs really hard.
I dont think its my equipment, but if no one else is getting it then it might be my iPhone or something :\
You probably have the volume on the iPhone too high, and the DAC inside the phone cant keep up with the audio levels you're asking for, when someone yells.
Either way, headphones would be a good way to go.
As far as these "high end car speakers", just curious as to what they are. Focals? Hybrid audio? Dynaudio? Hertz? :3
