Burnie recently mentioned that the RT life's are shot on a mix of Sony Bloggies and Flip HD's.

Now my question is does anyone here in the forum have hands on experience with these camera's and what would be the Pros and Cons of each.
If you have experience with any other cheap HD cam's i'd like to hear a bit from the community about those as well. i trust the RT community more then a lot of the reviews I've seen on the internet. Which are normally filled with some dude saying how its the best camera he ever used and some douche saying it was the shittiest product he ever used and not explaining why. Point is Tech community what would you recommend?

I have the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 and it works great. Only thing is it only shoots 720p30 as its highest quality. heres the website with more specs : sanyo.com/xacti/english/products/vpc_cg...

These camera's are for web or insert shots. They're designed to capture daily life for vlogs and youtube and what have you. Wouldn't recommend shooting a serious movie on them, as they are designed for that, nor have any features you'd be looking for in that regard.

They're cheap consumer cameras.

Personally I'd go with the one that you find has the easiest workflow.

I've seen what the iPhone does and its shit compared to a dedicated device but that's to be expected i suppose.

While i know that's a true statement and a cheap consumer camera would not be best for a feature film or movie i don't see it being an issue for small shorts or video's or random expeditions. Worst comes to worst I've seen the Bloggies 12megapixel camera shots and for a cheap video camera or still camera it is still kinda fantastic for under $200.

I should Iterate on my iPhone comment I understand people liking apple products but i'm not interested in being treated like a toddler. (That's just how i see Apple as a company) Also iPhone is a cellphone first a camera and video device after that so dedication in hardware is more what i'm looking at.

Videos, random expeditions, stuff like that is what those cameras were designed for, so yes, if you are doing that stuff, then go for whichever one you feel has the best workflow.

Iphones are good for insert shots. Due to the small form factor you can get them right in at weird angles to get some pretty neat shots. I've been with stunt units on shows where they're using GoPros, DSLR's, cheap consumer cameras and iphones to get shots for the scenes, simply because of the accessibility of them. GoPro's mainly because you can get a million dollar shot for $300

Well I'm really starting to think maybe Bloggie might be a front runner I mean worst comes to worst I will have a HD video cam for nonsense and pretty good resolution pictures.to boot for around $110 USD its cheap enough that it won't be too big a loss.

-Toshiba CAMILEO X200 Camcorder

-Toshiba CAMILEO X200 Camcorder

-Toshiba X400 Camcorder

Look up some of these because I believe that Toshiba is the way too go for HD hand-cams. These all have HD quality for around $200 and have Mic Input.
