alrighty, so, I have the old halo3 xbox360, its cool, i love it, but being it's gotten e74 three times now, I'm just not sure how long it will keep up =/ so, heres my question, should i save up for the halo 4 360, it's awesome looking, and i am sure i'd be happy with it for years, or just hang in there till the new xbox comes out?
It depends on when the new Xbox will come out. Is there an official release date on it? I haven't heard much about it. If you have to wait more than a year and a half for the new Xbox, I would just get a new one.
right, I don't know any more about it then you seem to, just seems like buying a new one when there is curently talk of the next one coming out might be a bad idea, and im just not sure.
It's a tough call. I would wait until there is more released on the new console. It's hard to make a decision if nobody seems to know about the subject.
No one knows when the next xbox will come out, but start getting money, if your xbox is tearing apart it'll die soon and plus, halo 4's xbox will cost around 400 $, same price of the GoW 3's xbox, your choice though,
I say the new xbox will come out between 2014-2015 seeing as how each console previous to the 360 has been out for no more then 5 years before it was either upgraded or discontinued. As the xbox 360 has been out around 6 years the logical times would be then.
There have been rumors that companies are already developing next gen games for the console as Battlefield 3 (im pretty sure) is the most graphically intense game and was pushing the boundaries of the 360.
To contradict what i just said Activision has (apparently) leaked that if you by the new medal of honor you will get a code to beta Battlefield 4. As medal of honor comes out in December if Battlefield 4 is on the next gen console and you can beta in December you should be looking at around mid 2013 with upgrades to be made.
As a side note the reason that people choose to play on a console is because everyone can play at max graphics and speeds and the majority of people cant hack the lobby's (and if they do they get banned) unlike pc when you can just regenerate an IP address, or they want to sit on a sofa and just play. with computers now you can just get a wireless pc/xbox controller. if a next gen console is to come soon it has to be better then high range computers, as mostly people only bought the 360 because it was better then computers.
If the new xbox does come out before 2014 i will not be purchasing as i can wait a little before it goes on sale to save that bit of cash, i think it will cost between £200 and £350 (witch is a little higher then then 360) i can also remember my dad telling me a few years ago he bought the PS1 on the release date and payed £350 because of that i would say it is a good guesstimate.
did you read or just speculate my last post? it MIGHT be coming out halfway through next year at about a 3% chance it will most probably be the next year or the one after that
there will be a new console, if it will be called anything like Xbox 720 or 1080 i cant be fussed. if you look at the facts: previous consoles (there must be another as everything that was popular was made into a sequel, look at mobile phones/pc's/dvd's/cars xbox as been out for around 6 years and has reached its limit graphically, if they want to move forward they have to create a new console so the software does not outdate the hardware (which is very, very soon)

That's a sweeping statement. I don't know anyone who bought a 360 because it was better than a high end computer. I buy consoles because I know what I'm getting & I will not have to upgrade it just to play next year's lineup of games.
Plus, the lure for game makers to develop for consoles is that they know exactly what hardware they are working with whereas a PC has too many differentiating aspects. This is also the reason mobile games come out on Apple's iOS products long before they do on Android (for the most part).
where i said because it was better then computers if you go back 6 years to where the first xbox 360 came out it WAS better then most computers, now it is mostly people who don't want to buy an expense PC that they cant play half of the new games that come out without buying a new graphics card etc. According to ohms law every two years technology doubles, for example every two years a computer chip halves in size or stays the same but doubles in capacity. consoles are not made to go with this as you have a console for around the same time as the 360 computers excel in this witch may be more appealing to people who want an upgrade regularly.
