It's pretty early to start posting views on the NFL playoffs, but, certain teams are emerging already as contenders. Also its pretty fun checking at the end of the year on how good/bad your picks were.

My picks are:
AFC: NE, BAL, IND, DEN, with NYJ and JAX as wilcards
NFC: PHI, MIN, ATL, SEA, with NYG and GB as wildcards

Please post your early picks. I'd love to compare them
Go Falcs!

you get a +1 for bein a falc fan, woot w00t. Vicks the man, and so is Dunn, Price, Alven, Kerney, Brooking, I could go on! and +1 Ditto, cuz thats about right for me. I mean, this year is a no brainer. The good teams are pretty obvious from the bad ones.

You JUST missed out on a ditto point... I didn't hear anything about THE CRUMPLER!

And in reply to the first post... I'm thinkin no on the Ravens... but that's just me. It's not like there's too much competition. I dont have enough faith in Palmer, Roethlisberger looks good, but his team less so, and the Browns depended too heavily on Suggs and Winslow. Sugg'll be affected by that injury in more game than one.

I have to go with my team Green Bay but I think the Seahawks and the Eagles have a good chance as well.

(NFC) North: Minnesota, South: Atlanta, East: Philly, West: Seattle, Wild Card: St. Louis, Detroit
(AFC) North: Baltimore, South: Indianapolis, East: New England, West: Denver, WC: Jacksonville, NY Jets

I guess that makes me the trendy puke, picking both Detroit and Jacksonville to make the playoffs.

AFC: NE, IND, PIT, DEN, with TN and KC wildcards
NFC: PHI, MIN, SEA, ATL, with STL and GB as wildcards

Titans, Chiefs, Rams, and Packers will all make strong comebacks. Atlanta will make it because who else in that division will??? Pit will beat out Bal because Lewis is going to get suspended probably 4 games this year and that means 3 to 4 losses for Baltimore right there.

I dig the STL pick, as I have them myself... but being a bit of a pessimist and a Rams fan, I can't see it happening. Martz has a screw or three loose and Larry Marmie needs to take a seminar on how to coach a defense. Another year of wasted talent for Gateway City football. Maybe the Cards will win the WS and make me forget how miserable it's going to be watching my team lose. I love em anyways, though. Go Rams!

just so you guys know...I've been following the vikings closely, unless they come out of this buy week with a miraculous change, don't expect them to make the playoffs, the bad O line and the holes in the D make this team iffy at best. They need to come together to beat some of the tough teams they have coming up

I think Vikings will make it simply because who else will win that division? GB could but they are 1-3 right now and for them to make it in again the vikings would have to do exactly what they did last year. the lions might in a year or two. The bears not even close.

Tell me about it, as a Buffalo fan I'm still bitter about Price.

oh yeah... the topic.

AFC: NE, BAL, IND, DEN with NYJ and CLE as wild cards
NFC: PHL, MIN, ATL, STL with SEA and NYG as wild cards

Sunday we shall see if Seattle's defence is for real or not.

Well yeah, but who in that division will win it? I can't see the Packers doing it. I see a major collapse in their future. I think the Lions can push and maybe make the playoffs if the offense stays consistent and the defense plays well. But the Lions winning the division? Riight... And the Bears chances of any sort of run ended when Sexy Rexy messed his ankle up. Granted, I don't think the Vikes have a chance in hell of getting to the Bowl, but they should win that division.

They have a good chance if their team shapes up, vikes have awesome talent and depth, they are just not working together well not reading the plays as they should, we're a young team this year and its showing

Yea, I meant Alge, at the moment I had forgotten his name. It's a very weird one. More bad news for the Ravens, Jamal Lewis' days are numbered, due to being caught with crack down here in the ATL. I'm curious as to why Ravens players come down to Atlanta and stir things up. If the falcs don't make it this year(to the Superbowl), then they will next, cuz they're doing stunningly awesome, considering they have a new coach with a lot of new assistants with a new formation set up, bootleg and 4-3. This team can only get better with each game.

First of all we dont have to wait for next week to see if Seattles Defense is for real we have to wait till Week 6 when they beat the Patriots (ahem). That aside

AFC: Pats, Colts, Broncos, Ravens with Jags and Jets as WildCards
NFC:Eagles, Vikings, falcons, Seahawks, with Packers(depending on Farve) and Giants well it is sort of a toss up between a lot of teams for Wild Card i just had to pick something

O yea Rams wont even break .500 this year

I'm extremely suprised on how well this thread is going. Thanks to everyone so far that placed their input, everybody has great ideas. It doesn't matter how bad the team is right now cus its only week 5, and every team has a chance at making the playoffs, at least mathematically.

With that said, everyone's picks have influenced me at least some bit, but i'm prolly gonna stay with my original picks.

Peace out
Superbowl: Falcs 24 NE 21
