If anyone is having problem with this one, add me and I'll help you out. I still need to do it, and maybe we can get two more and get the 4 co-op going.
You don't see master chiefs face at the end you get his name before the credits thats it. For Cortana use a BR or carbine to knock the shooters off the walls and if you see them morphing Melee them for instant kill. And use your equipment the best you can the shields will stop the Big guys from advancing on you so you can take your time snipe with BR whenever possible. That level was easy. The hard level is Traviso when you get stuck in the fort when the Wrath comes. Stay out of the fort as long as possible and get at least 10 plasma cannon rounds. Once inside the fort in the room on the left there are trip mines throw them all over the place in front of you. Use battle riffle untell there is no more snipers (flying guys) and when the wrath comes pick up the sniper riffle and headshot the guy in the turret. It works better if he turners his head first. then at that point you will have a few of the heavy armored brutes and one or two with plasma cannons. now try and get into a spot where the roof is covering you and use the plasma cannon on the wrath. wait tell he wont move away from your shots. after the wrath is destroyed you will get reinforcements use this distraction to get out of the fort and kill the brutes one by one. use any plasma cannon rounds on the strong brutes and hopefully you will have gotten through.
That one "Fort" part in Tsavo Highway was giving me so much trouble, since I wasn't doing co-op. >.<
I kept getting killed when the second Phantom flew down and dropped off more Brutes. The cannon on it was killing me.
After enough respawns, I managed to grab a Fuel Rod and blow the Phantom up before it dropped off troops. Not how that part was normally played, but it was a pretty cool strategy.
In getting this achievment along with the normal and heroic my gamerscore went over 1000 but I did not get the Katana... did they patch it with the newest update that gives you the new achivements?
lol got half way in co - op and my friend got angry and went on a rampage and we ended up getting killed at the same time and it went back to the start of the level lolz :D Ill Try again soon...
I'm having difficulties on this achievement. I only need this one after I get Spartan Officer and then I will have the Katana so if anyone wants to help add me, My Gamertag is: Its an Act If you are going to help me tell me in the comments on my profile.
If you can find out the respawning locations, best headshot places, and the tactics each AI uses in every level, Legendary will be a breeze.. if that's too complicated, find a level that you are best at, put it on Legendary, choose a few skulls to make it interesting.. My best is Floodgate, I use the Iron skull on Legendary. Also, if you have Marines or the Arbiter, or even normal Elites with you, use them to the extent of their life. With Grunts, headshots are a must, Brutes are best dealt with, with a well placed grenade or a few sniper headshots, Jackals use the BR and hit the small space in the shield to stun them, then Headshot them, sniper jackals are the same aim fast and kill faster, Flood of all forms, BR headshots, grenades, sword, plasma rifle and shotun are a must, Hunters are best dealt with by sticky grenades, the flying locust things, an Assault Rifle would be your best friend.
the only level i have trouble with is Cortana, because i run out of shotgun ammo very quickly, and the nearest sword is usually 5 minutes away. Hope this helps, if not, then keep trying, you'll get it.
On Cortana, if your playing two player co-op. the first player starts with a shotgun and the second player starts with a sword. if your the first player kill your partner and take his sword. then have him kill you and he will take your shotgun. then when you respawn, take your sword back. that way you and your partner both have a sword and a shotgun!!
still so hard to believe most of you people that leave comments say you need help,i did it alone with ease, but i'm just glad some of you can do it alone
Wow, I've done Legendary, 2 player co-op, with all skulls except Blind on, and even there I didn't have problems on Tsavo Highway. All you need to do is in the area where you encounter the first shield door (before you get onto the actual highway) go into the building near the overturned warthog. Inside that building is a grav lift. Take that along with your warthog and go down the highway. At one point you'll jump over a little gap in the road, and ahead of you will be several barricades which are supposed to prevent you from taking the hog any further (which is why I think most of you are having problems since you're on foot for the next battle). Park your hog facing that at the far end of that stretch of road (should be near a destroyed hog) and run down to the end. Deploy the grav lift near the barricades and run back to the hog. Get in and drive using it to get you up and over.
Once on the other side you can drive straight through without having to fire a shot. The key is you need to drive through one of the pipes that is slightly to the left as you first pass the overturned semi.
If you still have problems with this then send me a message either here or to my gamertag: "Gen Fire Dragon" and I can arrange to show you exactly what you need to do.
If you can't find someone to pair up with in co-op for this, don't worry. You can still grind a few hours on this by yourself. All you need is patience and a lot of free time.
Here are some example trouble spots for those that do this alone:
Level 1.) Sierra-117: starting from Sniper Alley and towards the end of the level. The snipers can be a real pain in the butt here. Be ready to find them and countersnipe as soon as you see 'em.
Lvl 2.) Crows Nest: the barracks where you save the captive marines. Take it slow around this area, and DONT run into open area. Let arby weaken the brutes, then go for the finishing kills.
Lvl 3.) Tsavo Highway: fighting off Brutes before your second Warthog is deployed. It's also where the Wraith appears for the first time in game (that's not good news). Perhaps the most agonizing battle you will EVER fight alone. Take each enemy out one at a time (sniper/battle rifles, trip mines, etc). If you go in the open... all of them shoot at you.
Lvl 5.) Floodgate: when the flood Pure forms start appearing. Range forms can tear you to shreds here. Use the turret, grenades, and everything else to take 'em down.
Lvl 7.) The Covenant: after you ally with flood forces and run to stop Truth. There are fuel rods, carbines, and grenades that you have to dodge. Seek cover after every engagement and shoot from a good distance away.
Lvl 8.) Cortana: The whole dang level. You'll see what I mean when hordes of gun-wielding zombies charge at you from narrow chokepoints. Rushing thru certain parts can help, but not always. Be prepared for at least two hours of carnage :)
Lvl 9.) Halo: climbing the structure. Flood can jump from nowhere and, in 5 seconds, consume you. Kill every flood you see, for if you leave them alone, they will chase you to death. Literally.
Hope this was helpful. Should take anywhere from two days to a week. Good luck!
