I believe the requirements are that you have to earn 7 EXP within a playlist, on the 7th of a month. Meaning, you have to win 7 games on that day.
That's what I interpreted from Bungie.net's weekly update.
Let’s dive into this a little deeper and try and address some of the questions that will no doubt arise from the community. First off are the “Vidmaster Challenge†achievements. These three will not earn you any gamer points but there will (eventually) be a pay-off. We’re not going to spoil the fun just yet but suffice it to say that gamerscore isn’t everything. There is a pot of gold at the end of the Vidmaster rainbow and it is something you will want. More details later.
The “Annual€ achievement will be obtainable starting on 9/25, to celebrate the anniversary of Halo 3. Your first chance at earning “7 on 7†will be on October 7th (Shishka has informed me that it will be a version of the “Icy Treats†playlist). After that, you can try again on the 7th of every month. To earn this, you simply need to earn a total of 7 EXP in any single playlist on the 7th of the month. Finally, the “Lightswitch€ is something is you can start working towards NOW. (Note: there’s more info on the new playlist rating system down below).
The other seven achievements will result in 250 gamer points and can be earned by playing ranked OR social Xbox LIVE multiplayer matches on any of the Legendary DLC maps (Blackout, Avalanche and Ghost Town). ~ straight from Bungie.net
Yah every list has its own EXP count. When you play a game on the 7th day of the month on a playlist where you have 7 EXP you get the achievement. Also Bungie is going to introduce new playlists on the 7th day of each month for that day only so people who have over 7 EXP on every playlist can get the achievement using that one.
I just read Bungie.net, and it said that these achievements are the first steps towards being able to unlock Recon armor for yourself in the upcoming Halo 3: Recon game. Check it out for yourselfes!
There hasn't been any comment on restructuring the EXP earning system, so as long as you place in the top half of seven games in playlist that you haven't been in since TU2, you should unlock this one.
They said they are releasing a specific playlist for that achievement on the 7th so if by chance you have over 7 in them all you can still just go to the new one and all you have to do is win 7 games.
you have to get an exp of exactly 7. you cannot get 7 exp, but you have to have exactly 7 exp. i.e. if you were at 2 exp, you need to win 5 games on the 7th day of any month to get this achievement. Bungie will also put out a playlist on the 7th day of each month, so that everyone can start at zero exp.
I think it has to be exactly 7 EXP. I was thinking that you could always do this in double EXP playlists but I realised that isn't going to work due to mathematical reasons.
in response to tsghost: you might be able to get it that way as long as you get the 7th exp on the 7th of any month but im not sure thank goodness i got this achievement on the 1st day it was available
I'm glad I got this one done in October... Now I don't have to wait for a month. Icy treats was a nice playlist, I hope they go with random gametypes again.
You could actually get it if you got to 8 exp and then quit enough to get down to 5 exp and then win one more to get up to 7. Making this the only achievement that being an asshole pays off at.. or if you just have a really bad connection.
I was just playing the 7 on 7 and I got up to 7 exp, but I haven't gotten the achievement yet. Has this happened to anyone else?
Yeah i just up to the 7 on 7 and got 7 exp in the list. i logged out to the dashboard....then started up Halo 3 and went into the 7 on 7 list and the achievement didn't pop. So do i need to wait till the 7th of this month??
can somebody tell me how to do it. do you need to play special playlist that is on the 7th of the month or you can play any playlist like MLG or something. BTW i read something about that you can just make 6 exp. on the 6th of the month and next day you just play and won one game and achievement should unlock when you go back to lobby. please respond :)
I also forgot to ask this what maps you need for that? Are you going to play on cold storage map, some original map or are you going to play at some legendary or mythic map? Please respond. :(
it just says "enter a playlist with 7 EXP on the 7th of any month" that might mean that ya can have 7 EXP and just log in and start a game with 7 EXP and get the tasty achievement ;)
