By the time Key had gotten into the position she needed to be in, the others had already made it to the Security room, and were keeping an eye on Surveillance cameras throughout the complex, on various feeds. Key's delays had not been of her own fault, but more rather she got into a sticky situation with a group of jackals who didn't like the idea of dying too much. following some aggressive negotiations, the jackals submitted to death at her hands. getting past them, she kept an eye on the exact location she was in. finding a quiet enough part of the prison complex, she noted the area, and turned on her raidio, sending a message to Ger and Ash only. //Sector E4, Mess hall//.
At that point, what could be seen on the monitors in the surveliance room was Key moving up the messhall, about half way through it, her attention was drawn to soemthing off-camera to the right, she backed up and fired her plasma rifle as it drew closer, revealing it's self to be a Brute Chieftan, charging with it's hammer, Key's plasma bolts doing almostn othing to the shields. Key, now backed into the corner drew her blade with a blue flash, and rolled away as the hammer smashed where she was, although the explosion from the impact broke her roll, as she stumbled and got up.
the Chieftan, despite lack of an audio feed held the hammer above it's head, and clearly roared, charging one more time. this time the persuing Chieftan got was it was charging for as key tried to swipe in a deep cut with her sword the hammer hit her, sending her flying across the room, the vital monitor from her suits read up as critical as it was relayed back through the Battlenet.
Again, through the monitor, she could be seen trying to get up, but was quickly put down, as the chieftain raised the bladed side of the hammer, and brought it down with a mighty force on her, at which point the vital monitor relayed a solid flatline out to the battlenet, the chieftain could be seen picking up the limp body and dragging it off.
The solid flatline could be seen shown on Ash's HUD, and the others if their hud was set to track vitals of the others, which was unlikely. all they saw was this brutal fight on screen.
"Yeah, but Zeta's useless for that type of thing. Actually... I'll send a rquest to PHILLIS." //Phillis, see if you can source the covie weapon supply. We'll need to know how they got plasma weapons.//
"As it said in the briefing that you should have paid attention to, all weapons are from the internal riot armories. You stupid shizno." Her calm and mocking tone replied immediately.
"Unlike you, the Sangheili and human guards wanted to be able to react with deadly force in the event of a prison riot. Unfortunately, the prisoners got them first due to security system failures. You really need to pay attention at the briefings, fake agent."
"If my memory banks serve, Brutes, the ones who spearheaded the riot, can take quite a beating when berserking. Are you finished acting like a completely new recruit on his first mission or do I need to continue to spell out the obvious letter by letter for you?"
Alabama takes the silence into consideration as he mutes the "conversation" between PHILLIS and the Fake Agent, "I'm gonna take that silence as a yes...."
Alabama, who decided he had enough and turned and yelled at him, "Cause they're god damn fucking ex-Covenant! Now shut the fuck up and deal with the fucking mission you moron!" He shakes his head muttering, "I swear... I'm no longer the biggest idiot here...."
