Marcher Lord Select - The Final RoundIf you've read a plea from me before, please feel free to disregard the next paragraph. If you're new here, keep reading. Marcher Lord Select is sort of American Idol meets book acquisitions. People have been reading material for the past month or two and voting on which ones they like best. The winner of the main contest gets to be published in spring of 2010. I had an entry in that one but was eliminated first round. Three winners are selected for the Premise Contest; those three will receive "priority acquisitions attention," meaning that the winners' manuscripts will be read immediately. I'm in that one. Considering the fact that the queue at Marcher Lord is somewhere around a year or two right now, that's a big deal. The reason I'm bringing this up now is because of how well I did the last round. I was told that I tied for third/fourth with another entry. But another twelve votes would have shot me to the top. So please, VOTE! Here's how you do it: 1) Head over to the Anomaly Forum. 2) Log in to your existing account or register if you don't have one. Registration is free and will not result in excessive spam (if that's something you're worried about). 3) If you want to read the entries for the premise contest, head on over here. 4) If you just want to vote, click here for the ballot. You can vote for up to two entries. Mine is entitled Numb. if you want to vote for a second one, consider casting a vote for a friend of mine's entry entitled Dying for Dragons. Voting remains open until midnight EST New Year's Eve. So there's a week there and the whole process will take you fifteen minutes. Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you help me spread the word? My wonderful friend MichyGeary helped out the last round and I love her for it. I realize that I'm kind of hi-jacking the Group News section for a personal reason, but hey, there you go. If you guys have news to share, submit it to me or any of the other admins and we'll post it. Thank you for your time and Merry Christmas. |
