Some of the action scenes did bothered me, but my main problem with QoS was the director. it's directed as a straight up action film, but it's written as a spy thriller. had it had a different director, half the film you wouldn't know who the trust, who's side anyone is on. but as it is, you automatically know which side every player is on.
still, really enjoyed it. and CR, while excellent, also has a few flaws that damage it.
the two that jump to mind are, it's bizarrely structured. it has four acts.
and the action hurts that film, in a Different way. the first action scene is the best, and they never managed to top that, it's just more rehashing of the same. all...

... I really liked QoS. I thought it was a worthy sequel.
Aye, it is worthy. And marred by how good its predecessor was. And had some damnating flaws that divided me too much. Also, I didn't like the action scenes. Great setup for the sequel though.
Personally, I think Spaced is the best thing Wright's done, it's the parody and comedy with Shaun and Fuzz, but because it's a longer series, you get more invested with the characters, plus it covers a WIDE verity of different parody points, unlike Shaun of fuzz that limits itself to one genre.
Thanks so much for the card! It was a most welcome surprise from a long voyage home. You couldn't have picked a more amusing (and appropriate) card. Seriously great choice. Many thanks again!
I know. My inner film critic curls up into a balls and dies a little every day I go to sleep without seeing this. I should stop torturing him and fix that... saw two apocalyptic movies with the CanWest Crew this weekend... Doomsday and Death Race. Quite liked both of them, surprisingly. Dumb yes. But the latter had a really nice gritty grey 70s style bleakness. My compliments go to Paul WS Anderson, bit of a love or hate director but I enjoyed this latest of his.
I will defiantly be seeing it on Imax at least once more. problem is it's so far away from me, isn't at least half a day gone just ot see Dark Knight. which is worth it... but still takes a lot of time.
I don't know, every now and then I pesterbeg ask him to come up to RvBTO. and thanks, I try to be positive. plus, things have been going really well lately.
Always an awesome welcome surprise, man.

Man, I'm going to miss being able to post in the forums...

And yes McKellar does.

Doomsday was great fun. the cannibal punk rock concert was so gloriously over the top and evil.

Truthfully, that thread was the reason I thought I'd never be a mod, everyone says people who ask never get it.
but yeah, the last laugh is nice.
'gratz Charlie!
I guess seeing it soon also implies you'll be seeing it again. Which I just know you will.
I'm probably going to end up see this one a couple times on IMAX at any rate.
