So I painted a houseAs you may or may not know, I bought a house this past June. Only it's not a normal house, it's a duplex with two perfectly symmectrical two bed/one bath houses on either side. Since I own the entire property, I'm pretty much the landlord of whoever lives on the other side. I recently allowed my last tenants (a deaf couple with two kids, two dogs and a cat) to break their lease early provided I was able to find a tenant to move in immediately after they moved out. The deaf guy got "a job offer of a lifetime" in Houston, so I figured I'd be a nice guy and let them do what they needed to do with little hassle. We agreed that for letting them break their lease early and with little notice, I'd only be giving them half of their deposit back. That's a better deal than you're ever going to get at an apartment complex, and they agreed to the terms.
So, through the magic of the internet and austin.craigslist.org, I was able to find a new tenant in about a month after posting the ad. She's a 21 year old student at a local beauty academy with a rich daddy (who's on his second wife) back in California. Lord knows what she's doing in this part of the country, but she was making a one and a half hour commute each way and she needed something closer. My place is five minutes from where she's going to school, so it's a win-win-win situation for everyone involved.
So, the old tenants picked up their shit and left last Saturday without cleaning a goddamned thing. Well, they did use a shitty rental carpet cleaner in the living room that succeeded in doing little more than causing the organic filth embedded in the carpet to become mud. Did I mention that the place smelled like a gorilla's armpit? Anyways, I realized that I was going to have to get the place back into shape before I get this new person moved in, I got the supplies I needed and began cleaning that night.
Long story short: the carpet got professionally cleaned and my girlfriend and I had painted the interior of the entire house except for the kitchen. The house is clean and no longer smells horrilbe. I even replaced the goddamned blinds in two of the rooms. The entire process took and entire week I even had to do a seven hour cram session on Friday night to make sure everything was done.
I've never painted the inside of a house on my own before, and I've got to say that the sense of accomplishment feels pretty good.

Look at what came in the mail today!fuckin' a! The tekken stick feels wonderful. It's very solid and the buttons feel top notch and not cheaply made. I highly reccomend it for any fan.
I don't think I've ever showed off my console setup, so here it is. If you think playing games on this is fun, you're goddamned right.

how I get downFor those of you that don't know me, I'm the "cool uncle" of the mod family. I've only got two pet peeves: always use proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar while you're around here. I enjoy reading the forums at a certain pace, and having to decipher the train wrecks of posts around here makes me angry. 
Also, don't bother me about mod points. I don't mess with them and tend to ignore any drama caused by them.
