A New Series? In our infinite wisdom, Geoff and I decided to try something new for Achievement Hunter and just recorded 40 minutes of the two of us playing Saint's Row The Third.
Check out the video and let us know what you think. If it gets a good enough response, there might be a new series for you guys in the future. ;D

NYCC RecapI was thinking long and hard about what to write about for the time I spent at New York Comic Con. In doing so, I read many of my friends journal entries of whom I spent the trip with.
It was only after reading all of these that I realized, why the fuck should I even write one? It has absolutely nothing to do with me being too lazy to do it, I just don't want to repeat information that has already been posted by far more qualified individuals....yeah that sounds good, let's go with that.
In summation, I had a great time at NYCC. Thanks for doing all the work on the journals for me, suckers! I'm going back to sleep. Note: Creating this journal entry was probably more work than just writing my own.
New York Comic Con is right around the corner and if you're planning on attending make sure to stop by the Rooster Teeth booth, we're #1720.
It starts on Thursday, October 13th and runs until Sunday, October 16th. Barbara, Gus, Chris, and I will be there every day. I'm sure I'll be doing all of the work as usual since Gus is too important and Barbara is way too pretty. I have no idea what the fuck Chris is going to do so maybe I can dump some of the work on him.
No matter who does what, it's sure to be good times for all so just remember to come on over to say hi and buy some of our shit amazing merchandise.
Happy Birthday, Ray!Today, September 15th, is my very good friend Ray's (BrownMan) birthday. In celebration of that I thought it was only appropriate to say a few lot of words about him and the impact he's had on me and my life.
Some of you may know that Ray and I have done a LOT of videos together. The comment section of every video we do is filled with comparisons of us to Jack and Geoff and while our humor may be different (ok, vastly different) the chemistry, that spark, is the same. While you might assume that this was always the case, you couldn't be more wrong.
When I first started making videos for Achievement Hunter, Geoff (being the cool guy that he is) gave me a nice tip. "I do not think that the other fine gentlemen at Achievement Hunter feel you fit into their particular social group" he said. Alright, I may have churched that part up a bit.
However, those guys were here first (trust me Mike, I'll never forget it) and I didn't want to cause any waves, so I didn't. I didn't talk to them (or anyone on the site, really), I just sent in my videos and kept to myself.
This went on for the first three months, then I got an invitation from Geoff to visit the office in Austin, TX. I was more than excited to get a chance to meet the guys that I had been a fan of for so many years. I even got to be in an episode of AHWU (stupid hat and all), sure it was for all of two seconds, but still!
It was during that trip that I was first offered a job at Rooster Teeth. Now, understand that I had a (very good) full-time 40 hour a week job and this was just a hobby that I did in my spare time. My entire life was in New Jersey and at the end of the day (and a lot of sleepless nights) I regrettably declined the offer.
It wasn't until after I had returned home that I discovered something, something amazing, something that would change my life forever. AHTV. On complete chance, I stumbled into an AHTV one day after work on a day that Fragger and Ray happened to be streaming.
I sat down at my computer for what I expected to be just a few minutes and logged in. Fragger noticed me and who I was and informed the chat that I was there. I started talking to people and answering questions and before I knew it that few minutes had turned into 6 hours. Just typing in the chat to those guys while they were in the Skype call was some of the most fun I've ever had.
At the end of the stream just before I left, Ray said "Hey, send me a friend request on Xbox live"". I wasn't sure if he meant it or was just being nice while people were watching but I figured "What the fuck?" and sent him one. One of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.
We didn't talk much after that, just exchanged a few stupid voice messages over Xbox live, until the next stream. A few weeks passed and I joined the next stream hoping for as much fun as I had in the last, except this time they invited me to the Skype call.
That was seriously the first time I had ever actually spoken to Fragger or Ray and now here I am streaming with them with a few hundred people listening in. What I assumed would be one of the most awkward moments of my life, wasn't. Almost instantly Ray and I just clicked.
After that stream we began to talk regularly on Xbox live and he introduced me to more and more people from the website, people that weren't very big fans of me but Ray, he vouched for me. Something he never had to do. It seemed like everyday I was meeting new people and making new friends, all thanks to him.
I became a lot more active on the website, starting posting more, replying to more messages, writing journal entries. My hobby quickly became my entire life. Each day I would come home from work and just browse the website looking for something new, something interesting, and I was rarely disappointed.
After doing this day after day for months I gained a passion for this site, far more so than I ever thought possible. AHTV became a regular event and people enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed doing it. I even got to go to RTX and meet some amazing people (that means you, Barbara! <333).
The first party chat I hopped into when I got back, Mike was there. Now let's be honest Mike, prior to meeting me you fucking hated me, I mean hated me, but after months of talking to me and then going to RTX for a weekend, what did you say when I got back? "Please, don't ever leave again. It was sooo boring without you!". I don't know if I ever told you, but that meant a lot to me.
As time went on I knew that this job was for me. I wanted it, I loved it, I needed it. Everyday I would try to come up with a scenario for my life that didn't have me working here and I just couldn't do it. So finally, when that offer came up again you better fucking believe I said yes.
Now while I can't say that meeting Ray was the only factor in these events, I can say with absolute certainty that I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. We've talked for no doubt thousands of hours over the course of our friendship, a friendship that while only 6 months old, feels like 10 years.
We've met several times in person, played games, seen movies. All great fun. I can without a doubt say that he's the best friend I've made from this entire adventure (and one of the best friends I've made in my life) and everyday I look forward to figuring out something we can do together to make people laugh.
I realize this journal entry is way too fucking long and most people won't read it but that's fine, it's really only meant for one person anyway. So Ray, I just want to thank you for everything you've done for me. For all of the good times we've had and all of the good times we're going to. You're a kind, hilarious, and amazing person and I'm honored to call you my friend.
I hope you have an amazing birthday bro, you fucking deserve it.
