My first production!So I finished my first production at the end of the class. The instructor was amazed at how well I did but I don't think they are going to use my product for television. However I can use my episode for portfolio and resume stuff so that's great! I will try to post it as soon as possible so anyone out there who is reading this can check it out. I did the entire edit for the episode, I even had to generate my own intro, credits, and title watermark for the episode. It turned out great, looks like an actual professional production. I was even the camera guy for 5 minutes of the 20 minute episode. As soon as I can I will post it so anyone interested can see.
BTW it was a cooking show demonstrating and awesome bacon, jalapeno, blue cheese burger.

First Television Shoot!So my training seminar with the local TV station is going awesome. Today I actually got to shoot for a local TV show called Live in Ketchikan: Celebrity Chef on KPU commvision. Not only was I the camera guy for part of the shoot I was also in the shoot eating the finished food. Here in another hour we are going back to the classroom and editing our footage for TV. I am learning a ton of new stuff about editing and filming and hopefully this will give me the skills and experience needed to get into the industry.

Sony Vegas Back up and Running!Finally my movie studio is back! Sony sent me a crazy way to fix it that I couldn't believe but it actually worked! I had to uninstall my software again completely (registry keys and everything). Then I had to create a new user with administrator privileges on my computer. I had to log in with that account and install the software on that account even though my account has administrator privileges. After that the program started up fine and I deleted the new account. Logged into my account and Vegas was working fine like nothing had ever happened, how crazy is that?!

local television trainingSo next week the local broadcasting company here in town is having a special week long free training seminar on video editing, tv production, and story writing. Guess who got the week off to go? Finally I can get some real education to help with my video editing. Problem is though they will be training in final cut pro and I don't do mac....oh well. In other news, my sony vegas movie editor stopped working weeks ago and I can't make videos. I have tried everything except reformatting my computer. All the .exe files in the movie editor folder refuse to open. The audio studio and dvd architect work fine. Sony hasn't responded to my email in two weeks. I just reformatted my computer I DO NOT want to do it again.

Minecraft Capture the Tower MapSo my wife and I started a really awesome project in Minecraft last night. We are working on making a Capture the Tower map for Achievement Hunter to play in a Let's Play. I don't want to go into to many specifics but lets just say its Halo themed and really awesome. I thought about doing a lets build of us building it but....I am still not ready with my video editing skills and its really hard to get good camera angles in xbox minecraft for a lets build video. Once it nears completion I will post pictures.

Learning the RopesRecorded my first video couple weeks ago but had some issues after the render. Taking the time to go through the tutorials on my sony vegas suite now to learn what I did wrong. Pretty sure I had some settings wrong but so far the recorder works great. Problem I am running into now is I have no freakin idea what to make videos of. I might do a this is for the tekkit mod pack in minecraft and then continue with a let's play but my internet is down so that won't be happening for awhile. I also thought about doing a perfect let's play of halo 4 on legendary, no deaths, but I have to learn how to use vegas before I start. Anyways I won't be posting my first video because....well honestly it sucked, but was only a test anyways. Hopefully will have an update soon for those who care.

swtor rt guild gone....Just started playing swtor with my wife now because its free. Went to the swtor drunk tanks group to find it fairly dismantled. Real dissapointing but if anyone reading this is playing we on shadowlands with both sith and republic characters. maybe someday jack and adam will swing in now that its free and we can hang out. if not thats cool swtor is still an awesome game so far.

Back from Vegas!Well I survived my trip to Las Vegas. I had a great time, first night I was there I hit up the Adventure Dome next to CircusCircus. They were currently having their October Fright Fest as well so that was fun. Rode all the rides and got stuck in the harness' on one for 10min. Stayed at the Stratosphere hotel which was awesome. The hotel was great and all the bars had great deals on drinks from bottomless margaritas to 2 for 1 martinis and even 3$ jager shots. Played some Craps for fun, didn't make any money but wasn't really playing to anyways. Watched "Bite" at the stratosphere which was ok, but the best show I saw was the Frankie Moreno show. Those guys are really talented and I highly recomend anyone going to Vegas any time soon should totally check it out. Frankie is a great guy, loves his audience, heck in the middle of the show he started pooring Crown Royal shots for anyone that wanted any untill his bottle was empty. During the show I sat 1 row behind the legendary Vinnie Paul from Pantera, I even got my picture with him after the show. Went and checked out Freemont Street which was pretty cool, also peeked into the Insert Coin bar which is probably the coolest bar ever, of all time. Ate a ton of good food and had a ton of fun. Also, if you can't tell from all the pics I posted, the wife and I also drove to the grand canyon. I highly recomend anyone visiting Vegas to get a rental car and drive over to the canyone its worth it. Its about 100 miles from Vegas to the Sky Walk but I would recomend just getting the basic tour package when you are there and not spending the extra cash on the sky walk, it was kind of over hyped plus the second stop on the tour Guano Point has a way better view than the sky walk.
Well that is all, basically what I am really trying to say here is.....GO TO VEGAS ITS AWESOME!
