I'M A STAR@!!!!!111111I keep seeing the asterisk next to my name and having the urge to scroll down to the bottom of the page to read the footnote my brain is telling me must be associated with it.

KarmaI know this has been mentioned before by just about everyone, but I really wish there were a way to know exactly where your points were coming from (in terms of what posts, not from whom) as well as a total breakdown of all +/- moddings on your account.

There're leftover stuffed pasta shell thingers in the fridge. I am hungry. I think I shall eat them. And perhaps some of that delicious chocolate cake-bread stuff I snagged from work on Wednesday when I closed, although it really could use some ice cream.

Shit, my flatmate Patrick is playing his FUCKING SQEAKY BICYCLE WHEEL NOISES music again. At least he's got his door closed so it's not so terribly audible from the living room. I do believe my only recourse is to crank some music of my own.

Speaking of flatmates, I wonder where Mike got off to? Actually, seeing as he just got back from the airport with Emily in tow not that long ago, I'd guess they're holed up in his room.

FOOD NOW GOOD YES.

Hey Hello Midterm BreakWhere did the first half of the semester go? Shit! I'm going to be all degree-having in about six months now, assuming that I don't decide to hang around for another semester or two to take a few more classes to do something stupid like bump my compsci minor to another major.
On the agenda for the four-day-break:
1.) Swap out my trashed boot drive for the extra one out of Mike's abortive Linux box.
2.) Read more of the Hunter S. Thompson I've got kicking around. Finish up Great Shark Hunt, at a minimum.
3.) Straighten up my fucking room already. Jesus.
4.) Laundry. Laundry, laundry, laundry.
5.) Possibly more drinking.
6.) Maybe actually get some reading done for classes? Maybe?
7.) Pencil and ink the comic for the upcoming Journal. I think the deadline was something like last weekend--thank god I'm friends with three of the four editors.
8.) Grocery shopping? (FOOD GOOD MEGAN EAT.)
9.) If I get #1 done, install games and start playing again so my stupid ass doesn't get fragged to shit if I go to a LAN party Saturday (during the day, obviously--everybody KNOWS Saturday nights are for getting trashed. ALCOHOL IS COOL DRINKING IT MAKES ME COOL TOO BE JUST LIKE ME ASSHOLE).

PerlIs it wrong that I'm tempted to sit here and start writing a conversation program in Perl while killing time before work?
Gotta love those OH SO SEXXXY pattern-matching capabilities! God DAMN that is one adorable language.

LitCrit MidtermWell, let's hope that contrasting feminist analyses of Jean Rhys's Wide Sargasso Sea based off the writings of Gilbert & Gubar and de Beauvoir get me full credit for my long essay.

MidtermsIt just figures that that asshole Derrida would die RIGHT before my fucking LitCrit midterm. I bet that cockmonger did it ON PURPOSE so that we'd have a crazy special essay on him. And god knows it's almost midnight and I haven't even come close to starting to study, and I'm pretty sure that the flatmate who's in my class is already in bed. FUCK.

I think seniors should be exempt from exams and papers. If we haven't figured this shit out by now, we're never going to.

... You know, if I were thinking, I'd disconnect my laptop RIGHT NOW and go to the libray, sit my ass down, and start writing up notes.
... But that would make SENSE.

Hey, if this is all I really need to know, it's not that bad... is it?

Freud: uncanny, condensation/displacement, overdetermination, primary narcissism; Saussure: arbitrary nature of the sign, langue/parole, differential/negative aspect of meaning, synchrotic vs. diachronic perspectives; Foucault: name of the author (FOUCAULT! Ha, get it?), author-function, discursive praxis/transdiscursive position; Austin: performative utterances, infelicities; De Beauvoir: myth of woman, feminine mystery; Formalism: heresy of paraphrase, intentional fallacy; Eliot: poetic tradition, impersonal poetry, objective correlative; Ransom: criticism, heresy of paraphrase; Derrida: supplement, doubling commentary, ecriture, differance, philosophy/literature, critique; Bloom: anxiety of influence, originality, misprision, revisionary ratio; Gilbert and Gubar: anxiety of authorship, patriarchal socialization, monster-woman

10010 or 18Do you think anybody will get that if I use either of those as an written way to throw up the horns?

... Although it doesn't really work with that, seeing as they only have four fingers (well, three and a thumb). You get the idea, though.

<3 <3 <3 <3 <4!!!!!!!I love programming in languages I just fucking learned and have no references for other than confusing mediocre online documentation! At least it works, 'ey?

Also: Wow, Lisp gets even more obscenely unreadable when you can't tab anything.
