Who not to let live with you...Never let someone agree to live with you if she has her gum pierced. Apart from the fact that it is gross, she will decide after two of you have already signed the contract that she can't live with you next year. So now we have today to find someone else to live with us or we will lose a brilliant house that is cheap and near uni. Damn her.
I wonder if I could con george house into renting a house in Brum even though he goes to uni in Bristol?
This little joy was found out last night after going to a concert, and before going to a gig taht a friend of a friend was doing, aparently it was good, but I wouldn't know as I was frantically ringing people to see if they didn't have people they wanted to live with next year yet.
In other news: finished my work for this term, but I have to start work for next term as I have three essays due in for the first day of term!! Bastards. Or I could go over to a friend's house and play on his new Wii. Wonder which I'll do?
When are you guys coming back home Kev and Tom? I'll be back in Taunton on tuesday.

Life and how to live it....Im' going back to Somerset tomorrow, for a good reason, don't worry it's not to see my mum. (Not even to see your mum Tufty!) There's some singing competition that I feel I should enter just so people can be nasty to me.
Sabrina (my housemate, Tufty, you remember her) is being a right bitch at the moment. She is pissed off that she is the only one that isn't getting attention from the opposite sex at the moment. And she isn't taking this out on everyone, she's taking it out on ME! Simply because I was the most recent to get into a relationship. Which sucks. I feel like saying that if she tried being nice once in a while she might get attention from blokes, but that seems a little harsh. Not so sure I want to live with her next year if she's going to continue to be like this.
Casino Royal is out tomorrow, huzzah! I bet it's shit. But I'll have to watch it in the cinema to see it's shit. At least there should be hot ladies in it. For the first time this term I played my ps2 this week. What game; Tony Hawks Underground. I started a new game, on 'sick', the hardest setting. And couldn't do the 3rd challenge. So I swapped back to normal and Whopped ass. I'm about half way through and I only played that one day in between doing loads of work. Tony Hawks is so simple to pick back up, but still somehow enjoyable. Sabrina said I got points for it not being a gory game, what game will I be playing next? GTA anyone?

REALLY long time now post...this is because I only use RVB for watching the episodes and checking up on Tom and Kev in a stalkerish manner.
What's going on inmy life: 2nd year music, what a doss, giving me more time for...
singing, lots of singing, but that's probably not very interesting for you guys...
New Girlfriend. Spending lots of time with her, which has slightly pissed off friends as I'm not around as much, but I'm now balancing time. She is great, nuff said.
there must be something else in my life...I'm drinking quite a bit more than last year, not sure if that's good, but freshers basically raped my bank account, especially the bar crawl with other musos.
going to the pub after every rehearsal is a plan, but not for my bank account when I'm rehearsing four nights a week.
Dawn still has many of my ps2 games, grrr....
that's all in my life...how depressing.

Long time no postI know it's been ages for all two of you that read this....but finally something important has happened in my life that means I want to post: I watched Later with Jools Holland last night. It was the last in the series so I thought there might be the odd good act and there was nothing better on tv. Raul Midon was AWSOME! The guys sounds a bit like Stevie Wonder, plays acoustic guitar like a legend and does a mean impression of a blues trumpet...with his mouth. He had sung a couple verses and choruses of his song, State of Mind then his mouth moved closer to the mic and he did a two minute trumpet solo, often moving in thirds/sixths with his guitar accomp. SO GOOD. Everyone after that said how awsome he was. The Strokes had to do a song straight after him, and they didn't stand a chance with the audience, they just wanted to hear Raul again!
Other good acts included the Flaming Lips, great fun. Their own song which they sand first was really good, then they did a cover of Black Sabbath; War Pigs? Was ok, but the singer wasn't great.
Cat Power was a great lounge-style jazzy singer. In the same vein as Norah Jones, but actually interesting to listen to. The only off-putting thing was that her legs seemed to be moving to another song than the one she was singing!
I'm looking at Raul Midon's album on amazon and contemplating buying it even though I know I don't have the money. It's times like these that I think about illegally downloading....

The trouble with buying rounds is....that at some point, I'll have to buy one.

i went to the pub with some people after a rehearsal and they bought me drinks, so now I'm drunk off of an embarrisngly small amount of beer. (it took three attempts to type the word BEER!) But next time we go, I'm going to have to buy a round or two...damn.

OH well...the opera rehearsals are going well...managed to insult the guy who is from outside of the uni by asking if he went to the Birmingham Conservatoire. That might not mean much, but as he goes to Guild Hall, it's like asking a Chelsea player if he plays for Yeovil.

Ladies and gentlemen...Pray for me. for more specifically for the exam I'm about to take tomorrow. it's worth a whopping 100% of my module and it's a three hour exam. AND I HAVEN'T BEEN REVISING ENOUGH FOR IT!

I'm not proud of this fact, normally I'm quite conscientious, but I've been busy the last few days with other stuff, meaning that last minute work has gone undone.

Anyone know about sonata-rondo form? All I know is it isn't quite sonata form, and it isn't quite rondo form, and it's the form used in the last movements of two pieces I've meant to have studied.. but what it is....who knows!

Oh well....I'm sure I won't fail...I hope...I'll update when I get a chance and tell you how it went.

EDIT I've done the exam now. It was surprisingly ok. I timed my essays quite well and answered both questions so I'll be shocked if I don't get 40%!

1st exam, Danny Wallace & Chili PeppersHello again my friend(s).
I've just been at a book signing by Danny Wallace. If you don't know who he is then google him. He has written what, so far seems to be our generation's 'Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance'. It's called 'Yes Man'. He did a reading and took questions which was amusing. All this time I was feeling a huge imposter - due to my friends being either side being huge fans of his, and I have seen his quiz show twice and seen him on Richard and Judy. I spent this time trying to think of something clever to say to him when I got my book signed, but when I got there I had nothing apart from warning him that my friend was a bit of a stalker, which he thought was a bit harsh on my friend but soon realised I was telling the truth when she asked to have her left hand signed as that was where Allan Tichmarsh had signed her about a year ago! I have read about 60 pages and the guys is brilliant. Tom, you will probably LOVE his books.
Now the boring and shitty news: My first exam was TERRIBLE! Really bad, I have probably failed it, luckily it only counted for 25% of the module. 75% was coursework that I think I have probably done ok in. I have never frozen quite so badly in an exam before!
I have also bought the Chili Peppers album. It is a qualified success. There are many good songs on it. and John Frusciante has taken his playing to a completely new level. He has been taking soloing lessons from a certain Mars Volta guitarist. (this is not just opinion, it is actual fact) On some of the worse songs he saves them with a great solo. (By great, Tom, I do not mean, technically brilliant or flashy, but it always takes the mood of the song and hightens any emotion present and sounds quite cool as well) Flea often takes a step back, before it always felt like him and John worked together and created a great pair, now Flea sounds more like part of the rhythm section with Chad. But he still gets some chances for funkiness. Anthony Kieldis still can't create good lyrics apart from to laugh at! But he is now a decent singer (as with the last two albums) and shows it really well in some quieter songs.
Anyway, time for more danny Wallace book reading...BYE
