RT FU'd me!So a big thanks to everybody who's commented me already, and for those of you later today. This site has been a big part of my life for nearly ten years and the friends on it are some of the best I've ever had. If you are looking to know more about me you can go here. My best friend Dopp did a great job digging up the real juicy tidbits like my favorite color and number. Shocking secrets reveled!
And as you can tell I'm a supremely sarcastic ass, but I'm friends know I'm only joshin'. New Car!Well new to me anyway! My 2009 Nissan Rogue's got new Kumho tires, a new battery, 6 disc CD changer w/ Bose Sound System and MP3 player, leather/heated/lumbar supported seats, and an intelli-key. It's got great cargo space and the gas mileage is not bad either, about 35 on the HWY.
I'm back on the highway, so MOVE BITCH, GET OUTT'A WAY!

Where the HELL have you been?!?!I'm sure a lot of you have been pondering this question. Well life has made me its chew toy for the past month, and hopefully its moved on to dick with someone else for a while. First of all, I want to thank everybody for sending me prayers, love, good vibes, whatever, in my last few journals. Like I said, part of my absence from the site & Screen Gems has been part hiatus/part stress induced mind scramble. I figured once my dad was better and I was back home I'd catch up the few loose ends at work and get back on with here with all you good RT folk a lot sooner. Instead, I've been nestled in my own personal hell for the past few weeks and just now seeing the sun.
So, for those who are interested, let me catch you up to speed. Oh, and as for the future of Screen Gems, I got a separate post over at the group's page regarding that as well.
Well anyway, you all know dad came through surgery fine, and I stayed as planned through the rest of the week and weekend. I didn't have much time to get on and thank anybody personally between the errands and playing nursemaid. And when I got back I was sure the backlog of work and freelance was going to kill me, and it nearly did. But some long hours and gritting my teeth I managed through and had the whole weekend to finally relax. I've barely been able to watch TV or play any video games in the past few weeks, so I was really looking forward to it. But I spent the first half of the weekend finally cleaning the house after over two weeks of neglect. But I still had all of Sat night and the whole of Sunday free and clear, right?
WRONG! It was St. Patty's Day & in a college town like Tallahassee it means trouble on the roads. So there I was heading home & I see this black Audi peeling out of an apt complex. Having almost no time to react, it hits me in my most right front end, crushing in on my tire and collapsing a great portion of the front. About 1/3 under the hood was smashed in on itself. And thankfully I was alone because the side impact curtain & side airbag deployed as well.
 
I wasn't hurt either, but the bitch of it was as I made it to the side of the road, that fucker kept on going! With all these witnesses on the corner the bastard still tried to get away with it. Thankfully the car behind him was nearly hit moments earlier in the parking lot and decided to follow him. The kids in the other car came back to me and gave me the license plate and a better description of the vehicle. Once the sheriff's department arrived they caught up with the driver moments later and charged him with 2nd degree felony for hit and run.
I got a tow and went straight home, filed my claim and crashed. I wasn't hurt, but if any of you have ever been in a car crash, you know just how sore you can be the next day. I spent Sunday in bed, and would have taken Mon off as well, but my boss has been on vacation this week, so it would have been a bad idea. Plus I just got caught back up on my work, so I've had to muscle through it. I knew nothing would have been moved on my claim because of the weekend, but when I checked in on it Tues I found out the owner of the policy wasn't even aware there had been wreck 3 days ago. Apparently the car's owner, some 19 year old stupid lump of a college girl let someone borrow her car, and when they wrecked it she wasn't even in the car. But not only that, she never told her rich daddy that she let some jack ass wreck it; in a hit and run no less. So the wheels on my claim continue to turn slowly. So slowly that because they have to talk to all people involved first in order to maintain which party is liable, I had to claim it under my policy just to keep things going. And guess who's holding me up? That's right the same guy that sped away from an accident he caused. But I'm assured this is just a formality and my $500 deductible should be coming my way very soon.
As for the car, right again, its ruined. Funny it's the very first car I ever bought brand new and its lasted the least amount of time of its predecessors. I got a good pay out at least, more than Blue Book anyway. And now that the old car is scrapped and fully paid for, so I got a few options. I'm going to pay off some debt, and save the rest back. Then I'm going to look for a new car this weekend, and at least I don't have near as much pressure as I did the last time I had to buy one when the Olds Intrigue died on me two weeks after I got the title in the mail.
And since I'm officially car shopping, I'd love some suggestions. I'm not too picky when it comes to cars, but if I had my way I'd drive a brand new orange 2011 Dodge Challenger off the lot first thing tomorrow morning. But let's be practical, with gas prices ever heading north, and needing a larger than average cargo space I'm leaning towards a Honda CR-V instead.

********UPDATE*******Please pray So some of you mIght be wondering what has happened to me on this site. No I haven't been scared away by the site change. And im still debating the future of Screen Gems. Also I've been working extra hard at the job as I enter in my 2nd big yearly seasonal push. Mostly though I've been worried about my dad. He told me last Christmas that he needed surgery, and even though it's a minor procedure, it's high risk given his age and history of heart problems. Well I'm here with the parents right now, and tomorrow morning we take my dad in to the hospital. Just spent the evening going over DNR stuff and other living will speak. Kind of freaked out by all of this. Please keep us in your prayers and I'll update you guys sometime tomorrow. Thanks -—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— ********UPDATE ***** ** Surgery went great and dad is doing good. Going to be a lot of pain and a hard recovery. But way better than living with a deteriorating condition or worse. Thanks again for all your well wishes. It's been a huge comfort to me.
