Hey all.Been in Korea this last month and busy with classes et all. Pictures and videos are much better than reading boring text, but I can't post anything 'till I'm back Stateside. Korea's been a blast, best Spring Break I've ever had even though it wasn't a vacation. I've got alot of journal lurking to do.

I jumped out of an airplane today.I jumped out of a plane.

I jumped right out of a plane.

I. Jumped. Out. Of. An. Airplane.

Today. Twice,

Holy fucking shit I jumped out of a plane and I get to do it again and, oh man I love the Army right now because I get to do it again tomarrow!

I got paid to jump out of an airplane, that either makes me incredibly stupid or incredibly fortunate to have such a great job.

"How many weeks until you're through?""One more week and I'll be through. I won't have to look at you, super, super, ugly you..."

Starting Monday, weather permitting, our company will finally get to perform the first of 5 jumps as part of our graduation requirement. Alot of the guys are nervous about it. For me, it's not the jumping out of a plane flying 1200 feet above the ground at 25 knots that scares me most (don't get me wrong, that does cross my mind more than a few times each day) it's the landing part that I'm most anxious about. Our first week here the cadre taught everyone how to execute a Parachute Landing Fall in order to distribute the shock that landing has onto multiple parts of the body, thereby reducing the likely hood of injury. Most of the horror stories we've heard about people getting injured involved them not following proper technique. It's alot of stuff to remember to do in a short amount of time. I just really hope I don't gain the ability to lick the bottom of my boot after any of these jumps. That would suck, especially since this is all I've gotta do before I finally get to go home.

At the same time I'm also super excited about this. After all, I've always wanted to go skydiving. The Army has a way of taking the fun outta things so I guess I'll see if I can get a proper thrill when all is said and done.

Meanwhile, all I do is wait. "Hurry up and wait" is certainly true for life in the Army. For junior enlisted though that usually means having to do some bullshit detail when there's nothing to do. Police calls, barracks maintenance, moving furniture, even having to do some painting or whatever just to make sure us Privates have something to do. Idle hands and all that, I guess. I keep asking myself whenever I get roped into these things when am I going to get the detail where I've got to help the Sergeant finish all the excess ice cream in the freezer? Heh. Well I might not have been able to do that, but I did get to help my company commander on a video project before I left Ft. Lee last month. Remember Terry Tate: Office Linebacker? Well we did the same thing. I didn't get to go to the Brigade Dining-Out to see it, but I did get a copy of the video. Enjoy.

HeyJust lurking the site, hoping for new video content and I just decided to give any and all who have me on their watchlist one more thing to click on as you all browse the interwebs today. Long time no post. However much I hate to admit it, without the actual RvB series, the website doesn't really appeal to me these last couple of days. I guess, because I've been gone so long, it's like when you miss a few episodes of a favorite TV show and you come back to it and are like, "What the Hell is going on?". For me I either just stop watching, or play catch up on the reruns.

It would seem to be appropriate to ask what's up with you all, but I've got a fairly backlogged alert list to get caught up to you all with so I guess that's what I'll be doing on RT in between RvB. As for me? Well, I went through the Army's Basic Combat Training (sucky but it's true what they say about you only remembering the good parts), completed the Advanced Individual Training for my MOS (military job, which mine happens to be as a Unit Supply Specialist), and am now undergoing Basic Airborne Training here at Fort Benning, GA.

Anyway, just a heads up.

Happy New YearSorry I can't wish you all a good one individually, I'm leaving for Army BCT on Sunday and this is probably my only opportunity to do so. Have a good one! See you all again in 9-10 weeks and, if not, by next July.

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!Then it's finals, then I get to go home, then I have to come back, then I leave for BCT. One step at a time though.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'm going to fail my English class. I hate writing and, yes, I realize the irony in typing that statement.

Today's RT comic makes me want to buy Left 4 Dead. Maybe I will take my 360 home instead of leaving it in storage for the next couple of weeks.
