#5: Hercules When it comes to my top animated films, you knew the highest ones were gonna be Classic Disney films. I loved Hercules. The artwork is fantastic, the music is great, even the musical numbers, which I usually hate, Disney's interpretation of Greek Gods and heroes, as well as the other characters, were phenomenal, and not to take away from the performance of the other VA's, but James Woods as Hades... Ho-Lee SHIT! This guy was amazing!
#4: Aladdin Aladdin was my absolute favorite movie as a kid. I used to have the movie on audio cassette and I would listen to it as many times as possible. Coming back to it after so many years, it hasn't aged a day. I love the art, I love the music, I love the characters, the jokes are hilarious, and the Voice Actors... Well, to keep it short and sweet, Robin Williams is one of my favorite comedians, he really shows his talent for both acting and comedy in this movie, but he could not have done it without the other VA's.
#3: Wreck-It Ralph This is Disney's best animated film in a long while, and it really helped restore my faith in this company. Disney pulled out all the stops for this one, getting some serious star power. They even got Sonic's current Voice actor to voice him for the cameo! How awesome is that?! Again, CG is wonderful, music is great, characters are likable, and the story is one that gamers of any age will love. Not saying any more to avoid spoilers, but the only reason this isn't higher is mainly because of how new it is...
#2: Fantasia You know how I usually gush when it comes to the voice actors of some animated films? Well this one barely has any voice acting. The only time there are any voices are the points between the scenes, usually where you're given a brief description of the coming scene. This movie is the epitome of telling a story without speaking, without words. Just visuals and music. The music, naturally, is beautiful, and the artwork... Oh good God, the art is so breathtakingly beautiful, it can reduce lesser men to tears. As a child, I would watch this movie over and over and over and over and over again. In fact, I actually wore out my original VHS cassette of this fine film, forcing my loving parents to buy a replacement, which I still own to this day. It's just... It's so good! Watch it! It's such a good movie! But, it's not quite my favorite animated film...
#1: The Lion King Okay, show of hands, who thought this was gonna make number one? Honestly? I didn't think so either! I pretty much had this equal to Fantasia, and was going to give this spot to Fantasia out of nostalgia. Then I went back and watched the opening scene of The Lion King, from the start to the title. The version I watched was full Blu-Ray quality, but I don't think that matters much. This scene is PERFECT. Everything. The art, the music, the pacing. This scene is perfect, and takes the rest of the movie, which is already damn near perfect, and makes it a work of ART. As for the rest of the film, does anything really need to be said? It's the Lion King, who HASN'T seen this movie in one form or another? I can say with full confidence, that if you grew up in the United States and never saw The Lion King, then there is something wrong with you. This is a movie I can watch at any time and thoroughly enjoy it, even in a time when the Internet ruins everything. If that isn't the best possible recommendation, then I don't know what is.
And that's it. My top ten animated films. Remember to like this post, and feel free to post your own top ten animated films in the comments. I do so enjoy reader feedback.

Top Ten Animated Films (pt. One, #10 - #6)So, people have been asking me what some of my favorite cartoon movies ever are (Yes, I know it's bullshit. Shut up.), and that got me thinking what exactly are my favorites? Well, I decided to make a list. Bear in mind, this is a list of my favorite Animated Movies, not what people think are the absolute best. So, here is the first half of my Top 10 Favorite Animated Films of all time:
#10: Pokemon The Movie 2000: The Power of One Now this might seem like a strange pick. After all, I don't even think of this as the best Pokemon Movie. But the thing is, I loved the second season of Pokemon, and the second movie is my favorite of all of them. Watching all of the movies again as an adult, I can really see that this movie was done far better than the first. There's less 4Kids meddling, the art is good, the soundtrack doesn't have nearly as much shoehorned pop songs, and the orchestral score is wonderful. The Guardian's Song being a particular thing of beauty. If you're a fellow Pokemaniac, definitely give it a watch.
#9: Dragon Ball Z: Broly, The Legendary Super Saiyan I make it no secret that Dragon Ball Z is one of my favorite anime series of all time, and Broly is my absolute favorite DBZ Movie villain. Before him, all the other villains had some form of henchmen, and they usually ended up being completely overpowered by Goku alone. Broly was different. He didn't have henchmen. He was a henchman that broke free of the control of his douchebag father. Besides, he didn't need them. If you talked shit, Broly was happy to go and clothesline your bitch ass through a building himself, because he's the Legendary Super Saiyan, and that's how he fucking rolls. Even the combined power of four Super Saiyans and a Super Namek couldn't kill this guy. Besides the awesome villain, the artwork is good, and so is the soundtrack. Yes, even the stupid Funimation soundtrack is okay.
#8: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm I love, Love LOVE, Batman: The Animated Series, and the movies are no exception. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are some of my favorite voice actors. The art and music are perfect for a Batman animated film. As well, the story is great, giving us a glimpse of Bruce's life before the Batman, and how Batman almost never was and after, showing these two points of his life colliding. Don't want to say too much for fear of spoilers, so go watch it for yourself.
#7: Princess Mononoke My first Miyazaki film was Spirited Away, and I absolutely loved it, but when I saw others later on, this became my favorite. The only competition this movie had for this spot was other Miyazaki films and Steamboy. The artwork is breathtaking, the music is beautiful, the voice acting is stupendous in both English and Japanese, and the story is just gripping from start to finish.
#6: Toy Story (1) We're reaching a point in the countdown where if you haven't seen these movies, you didn't have a proper childhood, and the first Toy Story is definitely such a movie. A classic Pixar Film. With great CG, lovable characters, good music, fantastic voice acting, and a story for the whole family, this one's guaranteed to split your sides and wet your eyes. Need I say more?
And that concludes the first half of my Top Ten Animated Films. Come back later in the week to see my Top Five.

Another Tearful GoodbyeMy grandmother was truly amazing. For most of the early part of my life, she helped to raise me along with my mother. She was a fan of Legend of Zelda, her and my mom played it before I was even born, and growing up, I would watch them play, which ultimately culminated in me following in their footsteps. In addition, she was a huge fan of Star Trek, and a bit of a fan of Doctor Who. I have no trouble believing that she helped shape me into the person I am today. Earlier in mid or late 2012, she had been struggling with Kidney cancer. She had surgery to remove one of her kidneys, which had a tumor, was going through chemo, and going to dialysis, but she seemed to be recovering and she seemed happy. Unfortunately, it did not last, and the cancer came back. My Grandmother passed away earlier today. Today, me, my family... We all lost something. Something that can never be replaced.
Home Alone ReturnsSo my folks have left to go skiing in the mountains and will be gone for three days. Break out the hard liquor, high explosives, and space bitches kiddies, because it's time for a sexy party! Or I'll just play Halo until my eyes bleed. I'm not picky.
