It could happen to you.I would have posted this last night but I couldn't due to this event.
This is all true.

10:24 P.M

I was sitting on the couch watching T.V with my parents. My mom was sitting next to me. Her cellphone rang; she looks confused. She tells me she never knew the number. She answers the phone. It was Wells Fargo. The woman on the phone tells my mom about a large amount of money being withdrawed from a check (don't know the correct term; if you tell me, I can edit this) on her bank account. Here's the thing. She was next to me at home just WATCHING TV. The banker asks my mom if she wasn't at the bank near the mall. My mom then repeats with concern and surprise, "No! I'm at home; someone is withdrawing money?!" The banker tells my mom that they will take care of the situation. My mom asks my dad to drive us (mom and me) to the bank, which was about 5 minutes away. As expected, the identity theft was in the police car arrested.

The woman theif looked 100% different than my mom, yet she had her information on an I.D. My mom is in her 40's has black hair, and asian. The woman is about in her 20's, blond, and caucasian. This was how she was caught, as told by the police of what the banker (different than the phone banker) told him. She wanted to withdraw a huge amount; but there was an insufficient amount. She becomes nervous, very nervous. She then tries to withdraw $1000. The banker tells her to show her I.D, and to wait. The thief was asked my address (same as my mom) and she knew every detail by heart. She had the EXACT info as my mom's I.D. That's when they called us. Oops, I forgot to mention, this was a little after the bank's closing time. We headed off there and that's how we were told this information. The thief is handcuffed, and taken to a different police car, "crying." By that I mean, she was crying in hysterics, but no tears. The next part happens when we arrive there. This should have been after, but I couldn't arrange it well.

Something happened when he got there. So, we parked the car, my dad got out and talked to the cop to see the thief in the car. The cop was sort of sarcastic in his conversation. When my dad asked the cop if he knew this lieutenant, he replied that he "knew him very well." I was sitting in the car a little across the street, and I couldn't hear him. My mom was sitting in the front watching my dad talking to the cop. Anyway, my dad tells the cop that he is really good friends with the lieutenant and played basketball with him, and this cop gets a little scared. The cop then decides to be serious with him. I knew this because my dad came to the car a few minutes later and told us. Another cop came, told both of my parents that they can see the thief. I wasn't feeling so grand at the time, so I stayed in the back. This is before the second paragraph. I could see the woman when she was getting transferred to another police car. Real clearly. My mom's average height, but that thief is probably 5'10-5'11.

I thank Wells Fargo and the Police Department. They are now doing an investigation of this crime. More of this later, when I get more details. tl;dr

Be safe everyone,
Byron
