The PackageJust finished watching R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" in its entirety...and honestly it was very entertaining. Say what you want about his musical/writing skill (or lack thereof) but for whatever reason I couldn't stop watching and laughing. Turning everyday conversations and hip-hoppifying them for about a movie's length just doesn't get old. Also, the plot is absolutely, throw-your-own-feces-at-strangers insane.

Clockwork OrangeSometimes people wonder why I'm indifferent to movie violence, language, nudity, etc. It's because the written equivalent is usually much more gripping, terrifying and awesome.
Just watched A Clockwork Orange for the first time, about 7 years after reading the book. Granted I was 17 when I read the book so maybe I've just gotten more cynical over the years but I remember being almost disgusted after finishing the book, but I loved it. After the movie, all I could think was "well, it was a good adaptation but why'd they cut the last chapter?!" Come to think of it...I felt the same way after Thank You For Smoking and Fight Club.
That being said, I'm a big Kubrick fan and aside from leaving the last chapter out of the movie, it was fantastic....I'm not sure if this post had a point but it was on my mind...

End of an eraQuit my job today, tried to do it on good terms but apparently everybody in food service has no soul. Good riddance, then. The reason I quit is because we only get 4 days of vacation a year and I used mine already because I'm graduating in 5 days...assuming I can pass p-chem. Trying to find a sub for every day until then would take too much time and then I'd probably fail this final. Telling them I need personal days until Saturday would mean I'd get fired so....yeah.
That being said, as long as I can pass this exam I pass the class and therefore pass college with a degree in chemistry, so here's to studying for the next 120 hours for a piece of paper that says I can succeed enough to get a real job.

LNJJ NewbieI caught the last 5 minutes or so of Late Night Jenga Jam for the first time, and I'm already looking forward to next Tuesday. I never cease to be amazed by the RT community, it's really inspiring. Hopefully my own personal projects will be making some progress soon, as soon as finals are over and that degree is in my hand...

Windows Movie MakerJust set up a gmail and youtube account for the Kendo/Kumdo club at Virginia Tech. Took about an hour's worth of video and 100 pictures during practice to try and put together an info video for interested college students aaaaand well it's slow going.
That being said, the videos from the end of the semester mock tournament are being uploaded to youtube right now. The channel is "VTKendo", go check out some kendo!

Motherfucking NFLAt work today (on campus sports bar, AKA Bar and Grill minus the booze) there were 200 people on the floor plus 40 employees watching TV. Every 5 minutes or so I got a complaint that the Capitals vs Canadiens game wasn't on the 60 inch TV facing the sit-down section. Being a Caps fan, I understand. What's on instead? Round 2 and 3 of the NFL draft. Now I'm an early 20s American dude, so I can't help but know football, but when there's a LIVE game that's important in a sport's PLAYOFFS and you show something that's the equivalent of being read a newspaper, do you get upset? I know the NFL draft is important but goddamnit hockey already has to compete with the start of the baseball season and the NBA playoffs. Why can't football take the back seat and shut the fuck up for one month out of the year?!
Kicker: my fellow employees are assholes. Even during the commercials between draft picks, they wouldn't switch to the Caps game for a score update. Despite the protests on the last podcast, I'm THIS close to buying a TV-B Gone. RRRRRRGGH

This week in WacoI don't live in Waco, TX...for those of you reading. That being said, finals week is rapidly approaching, my parents are in Key West FL, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs are getting interesting. So:
1. I am shitting bricks over my next round of exams. I REALLY want to graduate and get the eff out of Blacksburg (love VT, love the town, ready to move on with my life)
2. I love my family. Dad turns 55 on Tuesday. If you want to know what my dad's like, start following ShitMyDadSays on twitter. 'Nough said.
